unwanted purchase

by mistake I bid on an auction. After checking the auction carefully, I realized I wasn’t interested. About three hours before the deadline I sent a message to the seller explaining my mistake. The response was that I had to be the one to cancel the bid. So I did, in fact the system showed that my bid had been canceled. I found myself with the item awarded to me, to be paid for, and on top of that when I kept asking the seller to cancel it, he replied that he did not intend to cancel my purchase. In conclusion, I expect a negative review because I absolutely do not intend to "give away" money to the seller. I forgot to mention I have over 900 feedback as a seller with ratings from 4.9 to 5. I expect that if the seller does not back down from his "selfless" decision, he will be paid back in kind.

·1 year agoJust curious: one in general, or one per year?
Before the eBay revolution I paid for an item with PayPal; the seller had written that he didn't accept it even though he had it among the payment methods, obviously he didn't ship anything, the money came back to me but the seller marked me as a non-paying buyer, phone support immediately removed the report, I was still curious to know whether it's a one-time bonus or not.

·1 year agoeBay does not publicly specify the exact number of warnings that result in penalties. However, accumulating multiple warnings in a short period significantly increases the risk of account restrictions.
Warnings for unpaid items remain on the account for a period of 12 months. If a user accumulates multiple warnings within this period, they are more likely to face penalties.

·1 year agoAs a seller, I have never FORCED a purchase, also because you would run the risk that the buyer opens a dispute for item not as described.
The problem is that if you don't pay within 4 days you get a warning as a non-paying bidder.
But if you get only ONE, NOTHING HAPPENS TO YOU.
Decide for yourself, in short.
Kind regards.

·1 year agoHard to imagine they’d leave you a negative review.... sellers can only leave positive ones with positive comments. I get the annoyance for the seller but if you don’t pay, you don’t pay, no one’s going to arrest you

·1 year agoGood morning Franco
Based on eBay’s recent rules on cancellations after purchase, the possibility has recently been introduced for the buyer to cancel a purchase until the seller marks the shipment as shipped.
You can find the rule in question here:
This is the link relating to bid cancellation
https://www.ebay.it/help/default/default/annullare-le-offerte-gestire-gli-offerenti?id=4140
This one instead is the one relating to canceling a purchase
https://www.ebay.it/help/buying/buyers-can-cancel-order/che-modo-gli-acquirenti-possono-annullare-un-ordine?id=4004
If the seller has already marked the item as shipped, all you can do is wait for it to arrive.
Kind regards.
