This one in the photo is nota cigarette case, (it is slightly convex) but a British sterling matchbox holderfrom the late 1920s. It does however have the type of clasp similar to the cigarette case in question.Which was usually flat and held about eight cigarettes. Often officers engravedthe initials of the name, as in my matchbox holder. It doesn’t matter if dented or in badcondition, of course.
