Item not received
Dear Customer
with reference to your report regarding the sending of Posta 1 n. 2IVC0018922948, we inform you of the following.
From the checks carried out on our computer systems, the item appears to have been delivered on 01/03/2023
Regarding this, we must point out that for this type of service, delivery takes place by placing the item in a mailbox, without obtaining a signature, and that the reporting function offered is merely informational and does not make it possible to determine with certainty, that is, on the basis of objective findings, the data relating to dispatch and destination, nor whether the item was actually delivered or not.
For this reason, for this type of product the Universal Postal Service Charter does not provide for compensation: specifically, it states that “in accordance with current national legislation and with the Universal Postal Convention ratified in Italian law, refunds, compensation or redress are provided only for those services for which it is possible to determine with certainty, that is, on the basis of objective findings, the data relating to dispatch, destination and delivery.
Regretting the inconvenience reported, we send you our kind regards.
Following up on what I wrote 2 days ago, I also made a request to the post office even though I knew I would get nothing out of it, since the seller, while charging 10 euros for shipping, sent it with POSTA1 EXTRA STANDARD.......... but the Post Office is clear, it’s true they don’t reimburse, but they specify that posta1 does not allow certain and definite tracking of both the shipment and the receipt, now will that be enough for eBay to request a refund? I also thought about going to the police station to report that I did not receive any package, what do you think? thanks

·3 years agoThe only thing, as Mario pointed out, is to try contacting eBay and explain that the seller also shipped with Posta 1 instead of using trackable methods.
The only thing you can do is contact eBay support by phone and explain the situation, remembering that the delivery outcome is not trackable and is a bit at the discretion of the postman/parcels carrier. Here on the forum no one will be able to help you apart from a few tips/opinions; you need to contact eBay support.
N.B.: I remind you that if in the seller’s listing the declared shipping method is a trackable method (registered mail or parcel) and the seller instead shipped with Posta 1, then you have the chance to dispute it and support your case with eBay. If, on the other hand, the listing stated Posta 1 as the first and/or only shipping method and you did not ask before purchasing for trackable shipping, you knowingly bought with that type of shipping and all the risks it entails, and you will have more difficulty trying to get a refund.

OP3 years agoThanks everyone, tomorrow I’ll go to the police station to declare that I did not receive any package, second I’ll go to the bank for a chargeback, I contacted eBay by phone but 3 call center operators gave 3 different answers, moreover I also have the reply from the postal service in which they are very clear in stating that for this type of shipment there is no tracking..........I can’t lose 70 euros because an extra standard posta1 was used; it has always gone well for the seller and I have to say he was lucky, among other things he manages everything from Germany and I also asked him to send me the receipt with the address on the envelope/package but so far I have received nothing, in fact today he replied that delivery of the package requires a signature........I told him again not to write nonsense, to reread both what I transcribed to him by copying from the text the postal service sent me and what the seller sent me in reply which is practically identical, if eBay handles transactions like this it looks after its own interests, if that were not the case, it would read the rules for posta1 extra standard and realize that it has no control either over shipping or delivery, instead it does not even want to take into account that I explicitly stated that I will be filing a complaint so in this case too eBay is handling the dispute badly therefore the only thing left for me to do is a charge back

Kind regards.

·3 years agoThe buyer is her. She did not receive the package, even though the delivery record says otherwise.
The post office is washing its hands of it, saying the service is not a tracked service, and eBay seems to side with the seller (based on the delivery record).
For this reason she is asking whether to file a report or try to explain to eBay what she received from the post office (the first part, the one that starts with Dear customer....)
In my opinion, both things can be done, however I doubt they could have any effect.
