Package from Japan, customs fee too expensive?
Good morning, after a month and a half of waiting I received an action figure from Japan, I had already made previous posts about a package where I had to pay VAT even though I had already paid on eBay, in the end I managed to get a refund and okay, with the second package I didn't have to pay anything, evidently it wasn't held up and this one was worth $69.72, that is, 57 for the figure and 12 for VAT. As soon as it arrived the postman told me there are 57 EUROS to pay. Now I haven't taken anything at the moment but I'm asking myself, are we kidding? This has never happened to me, the action figure is a very ordinary second-hand one at that. The first action figure I had problems with a month ago was worth 42 euros and they made me pay 14 euros in customs duties, how is it possible that for a value of 69 (dollars) I have to pay 57? What am I supposed to do? If I refuse I lose the money and the package I suppose, I'm stunned, should I throw away 123 euros for a very ordinary figure worth 40 euros?

·2 years agoAs for packages that have to go through a customs officer, I can tell you that every package is a case in itself.
I can't tell you why you have to pay 57 euros for a $69 item.
The fact is that it's better for you to pick up the item and pay at the office with a card so you also have a payment receipt.
Once you've received the item, if everything is okay, you can file a complaint for incorrect charging of customs fees at the post office and/or ask them if they can do anything.
Otherwise you have to deal directly with them (customs).
Don't let the package go back because then the reason will be (non-payment of import duties) and in case of dispute you would lose the item and the money.
Kind regards.
