dishonest seller
I would like to report a seller who does not comply with the rules on statutory warranties.
Unfortunately, I bought ,without first looking for reviews about this auto parts shop (3 gears with name), driven by the urgency of having my car off the road.
I bought this branded battery, trusting in the presumed quality of the product and the expertise of the seller in question; alas, a few days before the warranty expires it stops working and leaves me stranded. I contact the seller, who asks me for the original receipt (battery received without packaging, so who knows where the receipt is).
Unable to provide it, I ask him to retrieve it from the electronic management system but he says it is not possible (I wonder if he would answer the tax authorities like that too, since they can request 10 years of records and electronic invoicing has been mandatory since 2020), I show him the Paypal payment invoices and ebay order but nothing.
After contacting customer service, he replies that the battery must be checked by the manufacturer, so I contact the manufacturer directly, where they tell me they do not carry out any checks and that they are not responsible for any warranty, but that the warranty must be provided to me by the seller.
I communicate all this to the sales department, who of course disappears without any further reply; meanwhile, the days until the warranty ends keep passing.
Before buying on ebay, I recommend checking reviews on google; at my own expense I found out that this seller has not complied with the law with many other customers.

·1 year agoeBay offers 30 days of protection / buyer guarantee, after which eBay no longer provides assistance and you have to contact the seller directly.
The seller asked you for the receipt, which you did not provide,
Perhaps it would have been better to avoid the threatening tone because in fact you still got nothing.
Besides this, do you think that if you had bought directly online from the eCommerce site, the seller would have replaced the battery for you?
Unfortunately, this is the downside of distance purchases.
