Is it right to change the order status to "shipped" just a few seconds after purchase?
In a private sale, the seller can decide not to accept the return of the item, and the buyer has the right to be able to cancel the order after placing it. However, if the seller, the moment the payment arrives, marks it as shipped, it will be impossible for the buyer to cancel the order and they will be forced to receive the "package" without being able to return it. In my modest opinion, eBay should allow a window of a few hours before being able to change the status to shipped, to ensure that a user can go back on their steps. Thank you

That's not true, if the item isn't as described they can absolutely return it.

·2 years agogiven that the eBay rules (which you accept when you register, regardless of whether you buy or sell, but which practically almost nobody reads.....) clearly say that the purchase is binding and that to cancel it you must ask the seller who, at their discretion, may cancel the sale or not: anyway in the past there used to be a sort of "cooling-off period" that created more confusion than anything else..... then it was removed precisely because of the problems it caused.....
from the seller's point of view, I remember that the sooner you ship, the better it is to avoid any "issues", in fact allowing even a few hours could cause problems of this kind if the listing says it will be shipped quickly: a change like that would create, as in the past, more problems than anything else.....
also the buyer, whether it is a buy-it-now or an auction, I think has all the time to evaluate BEFORE whether to buy or not..... in short, someone who buys having had all the time in advance to "think it over" and then changes their mind I consider to be at least somewhat "unreliable" ......

OP2 years agoAn hour to rethink the purchase I don't think is excessive also because in most cases, nobody ships within an hour and especially doesn't create a label at 9:00 p.m. If you found yourself wanting to cancel
an order that after 20 seconds turns out to be shipped, you would tell Ebay to review the rules that you accepted when registering, trust me. Obviously I'm talking about private profiles that all professionals are opening to refuse the return.

Terrible idea, because a return can't be refused if the item is not as described, whether it's private or professional; and also because DAC07 applies to everyone, private individuals and professionals alike.

·2 years agoas said previously and as Mario indicated at the link provided, the substance doesn’t change: it is the seller who can, at their discretion, cancel or not cancel a buyer’s order at the latter’s request;
since I’m of the opinion that prevention is better than cure, I reiterate that the buyer must beforehand be sure of what they’re doing..... then if they find a reasonable seller who cancels it, good for them.... otherwise next time they should be more careful......
so I confirm again, without going back over the topic any more, everything said previously
PS: I’d like to point out that in the first post it says "a few hours", now it has become "1 hour": read the rules and changed them for your own use and convenience?

·2 years agoYou don't know the rules that govern distance sales.
As for the shipped status, it starts the moment the seller buys the label and the tracking code is generated.

OP2 years agoI’m talking about my right to cancel an order, which is nullified the moment it shows as shipped. The seller, in this case, is unable to cancel it. There needs to be some leeway before marking the item as shipped; otherwise I just have to leave it to God to deal with a mistake by the seller or the courier. Maybe you didn’t quite understand my question—read it again carefully and reply...

·2 years agoIt’s not a matter of explaining it to you, you just don’t want to understand.
On ebay the buyer has no right at all to cancel an order, even if only a few seconds have passed since payment.
They can only ask the seller to do it, but the seller has no obligation to accommodate the buyer.
The process changes slightly in the first hour, but not the substance.
If you don’t want to believe it, just read carefully ...... https://www.ebay.it/help/buying/buyers-can-cancel-order/che-modo-gli-acquirenti-possono-annullare-un-ordine?id=4004&st=3&pos=1&query=In%20che%20modo%20gli%20acquirenti%20possono%20annullare%20un%20ordine&intent=annullare%20ordine&lucenceai=lucenceai&docId=HELP1019
