Create a Petition Campaign for a Class Action!
I propose launching a class action against eBay because of its failure to monitor and its facilitation of scams that harm both buyers and honest sellers on the platform. This legal action aims to protect consumers' rights and seek compensation for the damages suffered.
How to Participate
If you are interested in supporting this initiative, I invite you to contact me to share comments and suggestions. We are organizing a petition on several platforms dedicated to this purpose.
Important Note: The petition is expected to begin within 10 days, so your contribution is essential!

·1 year agoI’ll relaunch with a question to those who have already tried....
Question: if a user changes their username on eBay, I imagine they’ll come off the blacklist.
technopartsbay
·1 year agoAbsolutely (and fortunately...) no, the ban is tied to the account, not the name.
It stays black even if it switches from private to professional.

·1 year agoThe user technopartsbay was replying to a question of mine regarding user blocking.
If you look closely, the quote was made by highlighting my nickname.
If we want to be picky, the discussion shifted slightly "off topic".
In any case, forums have operating rules that I recommend you take a look at.
Kind regards

·1 year agoThe problem with your class action is that it doesn’t have a very specific purpose. Sure, there are lots of scammers and lots of people who get scammed, but these practices are partly beyond eBay’s control.
If you sold seriously on Amazon, you’d realize that eBay is a kind of "paradise" despite all its problems. There, scams against sellers happen every day and misappropriation by customers is the order of the day.
One of the problems with eBay, however, is that both customers and sellers need to know the eBay Rules quite well in order to be able to understand how to protect themselves in most cases, even from scams (and trust me, knowing them makes a difference).
I see this as a problem because, according to eBay, a buyer (maybe even an occasional one) must know the rules of the system on the same level as a top-reliability seller, which is unrealistic, not to mention that there are some rules I don’t even know myself, even though I’ve been working on it professionally for several years.
Is it a problem? Yes. Does it make sense to start a class action over these procedures? No, because in the Service Terms and Conditions all the rules are written out and even if you appealed, eBay could find a way to justify even the correct methods for recovering hypothetically scammed money. It would basically be a huge waste of time and you wouldn’t get anything out of it.

·1 year agoAs usual, these posts instead contribute to my Filling-action, that is, adding new "elements" to the black list...

·1 year agoBefore taking any class action, if I were you I would read eBay's rules very thoroughly, because from the feedback you leave it is clear that its functioning is not very clear to you.

·1 year agoHi cizeta1964
Basically:
if a seller doesn't reply, you give them negative feedback
if it doesn't have double packaging, you give negative feedback
if it doesn't have proper packaging, you give negative feedback
if the package doesn't protect privacy, you give negative feedback
If that's the case, I imagine he also cares a lot about punctuality in delivery....
then writing "scammer" in the feedback I think is the icing on the cake.
It's a shame that many sellers also don't really know how eBay works, because those negative feedbacks would all be CHALLENGEABLE.
Anyway, I also "liked" the German seller's reply regarding double packaging, which I'll translate as: "To protect the environment, for good sustainability and to avoid unnecessary waste, no additional double packaging is used!!! Unfortunately I don't know what is NEGATIVE about avoiding waste and thus protecting the environment."

·1 year agoHi heavenwelkin, you’re absolutely right....a particularly difficult buyer... Blacklist...
Let’s file a class action too against those who write nonsense... 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
arcobaleno2022
·1 year agoAnd speaking of blacklists... how do you add nicknames to the list, in this sequence for example: tizio, caio, sempronio or in this other one, for example: tizio, caio, sempronio? (the difference between the two lists is the space after the nickname). I've always had this doubt 😅
Regards
orangefisherman
·1 year agoThere needs to be a space after the nick !!!!
arcobaleno2022
·1 year agoMaybe you meant the space after the comma, right? (tizio, caio, sempronio)
heavenwelkin
·1 year agoNo, like this: Tizio Caio Sempronio Mevio Filano Carpugno
Anyway, it should also work the way you wrote it, i.e. name(comma)(space)name

·1 year agoClass Action in Italian means Collective Action or maybe Class Action
I’m going by memory, but it seems to me that in our country this kind of action has never really taken off like it has in other countries (see the United States)
I do a web search and don’t find anything relevant in the first results.
I found this link titled : The failure of the Italian class action
https://www.altalex.com/documents/news/2021/08/30/fallimento-class-action-italiana
Best regards and good luck with your initiative.
