eBay dispute advice
Summary: The discussion is about a problem related to a controversy on eBay. superfabio130771 is looking for advice on how to handle the situation, and several participants weigh in to offer their perspectives and suggestions on the best way to proceed. However, the specific details of the recommendations are not provided in the conversation.
I should preface by saying that I’m not familiar with reports and disputes, so I’m asking for advice. The thing is, I bought 2 Apple products from a professional seller and they were never shipped. I contacted the seller, but he never replied. At that point I involved eBay, but even there there was no response from the seller. On the plus side, after the usual 3 business days, before I did, he opened a dispute against me ("I CAN'T RESOLVE THE PROBLEM WITH THE BUYER"). Since he never responded, it’s actually hard to resolve... In any case, I don’t understand the seller’s move (the order status is still "Paid"). Can someone explain it to me? What might the next steps be to get my money back? Thanks.

·1 year agoIf you opened the dispute for item not received (once the delivery time has expired), after 3-5 days you can ask ebay to step in and they’ll refund you.
I don’t get the part about the seller opening a dispute against you, honestly I don’t even think that’s possible.

OP1 year agoThanks a lot for the response. I repeat that I’m not an expert in disputes, but if I look at the timeline, first there’s my report and then the dispute opened by the seller and the note that eBay is reviewing it. I believe that in this situation I’m not able to open a dispute myself.

·1 year agoIt can happen... the seller asked eBay to step in because they consider your request to be an abuse or they don't think it's valid.
So eBay is reviewing it... but the fact that they are doing so may mean the seller has provided them with valid proof of what they are claiming.
Have a nice day.

OP1 year agoAnd that's what worries me, because he can't have any "real" proof: there was never a conversation with me (provable in the message history), he never shipped (provable in the order history, in paid status since mid-February) and the only thing I asked for was a refund. I don't know if it can have any validity, but maybe he filed a dispute against me to prevent me from doing it and for this to end up in his "curriculum". For the record, after several years of excellent reviews, the seller in the last period is not delivering anything and now has several dozen reports.

·1 year agothe fact that the seller got in ahead of you doesn’t necessarily mean he’ll be found right.......
PS: practically speaking, have you tried opening a dispute yourself?
