Hi everyone, I have a private seller account where they sent me an email saying
We are preparing your tax transparency report for 2024
We will prepare your platform tax transparency report for the year 2024 and share it with the German tax authorities at the end of this month.
250 items sold, and about 10k in sales over the year, I'm freaking out so much I can't sleep. Please tell me something?

·1 year agoHi, is there any news? I had a look at my pre-filled 730, and these earnings from eBay don't show up anywhere. I wonder why, if the tax agency received the DAC7 with my tax code, it isn't added automatically?
sika700
·1 year agoBecause it's up to you to declare them... DAC7's job is not to make your tax return easier, but to track down illegal sellers.
If you don't declare anything and the Tax Agency cross-checks the data and notices anomalies, it will ask you for clarification.
Kind regards.
ortofantastico
·1 year agofor example: one person is a flat-rate taxpayer, they collect 20,000 and the invoices are electronic, in the prefilled return you don’t even have the 20,000 in section LM and if you paid INPS instead of in section LM it puts them in section P .. and there it’s not like it would take a science degree -.-"

·1 year agoIf you issue invoices and have a VAT number, you’ll have an accountant or a tax assistance center following you

·1 year agoA chartered accountant to fill out an LM section? Like having a Ferrari to cross the street. But aside from that, I just meant that it’s impossible for online transaction data to end up in a pre-filled return, also because in that case it’s not certain there are invoices or digital receipts.

·1 year agoSo, on the 730, should receipts for 2024 reported by eBay be declared?
marioelegio
·1 year agoIf you believe you have not sold, as a private individual, your personal belongings …..
However, consider that declaring yourself an unauthorized seller could entail a series of subsequent obligations, so talk to an accountant about it.

·1 year agoSo far the Revenue Agency has given no indication about it. So, besides keeping the Report, I honestly wouldn’t know what to do with it (or rather, I do have a little idea...). If the Revenue Agency were to send out some circular, to any direct requests I’d reply that this DAC7 doesn’t concern my tax situation. If, on the other hand, I were to find this amount included in my pre-filled 730, ...I’d modify the pre-filled return...
postaio
·1 year agoAt the moment on the Agenzia Entrate website, the amount "transmitted" by Ebay is not visible...? So on the pre-filled 730, if nothing is entered, do we just go ahead like this or will we still have to put it in ourselves, or will we be subject to missing information...?
ortofantastico
·1 year agoSorry, but how is the ADE supposed to put it in the pre-filled return if it doesn’t know what you’re doing? You could be treated as occasional trading, or as a real business under the sole trader form, or as a private seller. What can the agency know before having opened a compliance file in your name? If all goes well for 2024, they’ll send a summons in 2028 or 2029, then they’ll see what to do according to the various cases.
byleblon
·1 year agoEbay definitely knows how to communicate earnings
ortofantastico
·1 year agook, and in which line of the pre-filled return should they put them, in your opinion?

·1 year agoI hope it’s as you say... in 2028. But it’s not like they’ll send out reports of “evaded” taxes...?
I still don’t know if I should declare eBay earnings on my 730.....🙄

·1 year agoExceeding the thresholds does not necessarily mean that it is right to enter it in the 730 form.
If you sell your scooter on ebay for 2500 euro, in your opinion is it right or wrong to declare it?
No one really knows how one should behave (even here on the forum) and the hot potato falls to you or your tax advisor.
Sorry for the inconvenience

·1 year agoThis morning I went to see my trusted tax advisor with my personal tax transparency report,
just to know and hear what he thought about it. As I expected, he wasn’t aware of either what Dac7 was or the new rules that apply to private sellers (30 sales/€2000 in earnings in one calendar year).
So after I explained what it was and whether to declare it in the income tax return under “miscellaneous income”, the answer was...I have no idea, or at least I’d have to wait for the professional to study the new European regulation.
My personal opinion is that there are really very few professionals who at the moment know how to give a correct and clear answer on this topic...I’m waiting for updates...we’ll see, in short.

·1 year agoThe fact that an experienced tax expert doesn't know it is worrying.
DAC7 is from March 22, 2021 and was supposed to come into force on January 1, 2023, with the first report in January 2024. Italy, as usual, did not transpose the directive in time (legislative decree no. 32 of March 1, 2023) and for this reason it only came into force here in 2024, with the first report in January 2025.
DAC7 only establishes the reporting obligation to the tax agency, for platforms, of the data of sellers who exceed certain limits. So the regulation has no effect on individual sellers, since the tax rules remain the same as before. The obligation or not to declare occasional earnings or to get compliant is the same as it was before.

·1 year agoSame here, it told me to come back in May for a check-up.. but in my opinion this directive will amount to nothing.. tiny amounts, for me, won't even be taken into consideration, that's what I think.. they certainly did a data exchange, but no one can know for sure where all this will lead

·1 year agoClassic case where the eBay operator doesn't know what they're talking about...
https://www.ebay.it/help/policies/identity-policies/regole-sugli-account-multipli?id=4232
So if you create multiple accounts with the same tax ID (obviously to sell, since a tax ID isn't required to buy), they flag you and, once the restrictions are exceeded, you get suspended...
pam.creazioni
·1 year agoThese articles don’t talk about dac7.. they assured me that for now they have this setup to send reports that exceed the threshold but per account, they told me they can’t guarantee it will always be like this, but for now that’s what they’re doing
heavenwelkin
·1 year agoHi pam.creazioni
Yes, I can confirm that it is as the eBay operator told you.
At the moment every account is a case of its own.
heavenwelkin
·1 year agoquote: Are there cases where it is not allowed to create another account?
On eBay, it is not allowed to register new accounts to avoid restrictions or limits on buying and selling, or to avoid other consequences resulting from failing to follow the rules.
If you have a suspended account, you can't use another account because it will be suspended too.
If you have an account where you can no longer list items because you have exceeded selling limits, you cannot use another account to sell because you risk restrictions and suspensions.
But you can freely open two or more accounts to sell if the accounts have not exceeded selling limits, and you have no suspensions or restrictions of any kind.
There are private eBay accounts with no selling limits
There are private eBay accounts with selling limits that are definitely high, above 10k
So yes, in certain cases you can open multiple accounts belonging to the same tax code.

·1 year agoFrom what I understand, a private individual can simply split sales across the various online selling platforms without exceeding the €2000 limit or the 30 transactions limit to avoid being reported to the tax authorities... For example, a total with Vinted, eBay, PayPal, Subito, etc.
To me it all seems like a real mess
ortofantastico
·1 year agoQuarters, I’m not citing articles, circulars, FAQs anymore.
I’m just saying that
as far as the period is concerned, it also depends a lot on what one deals with (for example, if I rent out the house by the sea, it’s normal that I focus on July and August, but also if I sell swimsuits, etc..)
as far as “organized” selling is concerned, according to the ADE and current case law, the mere fact of selling online is organization
occasional: I’m someone who can carve diamonds, but I don’t do that for a living; I get an opportunity from someone who wants a diamond carved, they give me 100,000 euros, for me that is occasional work and as such I treat it for tax return purposes
trader: I buy and sell continuously (see the 30 limit) my income is no longer occasional income but business income, which means bookkeeping and payment of direct and indirect taxes (not to mention social security and administrative costs)
private individual: I sell my own personal things (my used jacket, my car, my diving fins, etc..) there is no income, it is just a disposal of assets.
Continuing to think: scam, evade, circumvent, etc.. in the long run leads straight into a wall.
The data has already been communicated for 2023 even though no one has received anything, even though Germany, reprimanded by the EU, sent it late, now the 2024 data has been sent. SOGEI, which manages the data, has made good investments to mechanize everything.
If you buy and sell a house within 5 years (without having used it as your main residence for most of that period), you pay taxes on the capital gains, same for land. If the condominium owner rents out the roof to put a repeater on it, you pay on what is received pro rata, I’ve never seen one get slapped around for that. No investments were made in the software. Here, investments were made.
In my opinion, 2023 is gone; if someone can straighten out 24 (occasional activity) they can do it by bringing amounts to light in the tax returns. If someone can straighten out 2025 (trader), they do it by getting a VAT number. Truly private individuals need not worry about anything.
Then of course everyone does what they think best -.-"

·1 year agoI’ve just spoken with a very nice customer service rep.. she confirmed that officially the reports they sent are from 2024 and that no report was sent for 2023.. I had definitely gone over the thresholds in 2023 too.. and then she told me, because I asked her, that for now you can absolutely sell with multiple accounts using the same bank details and if you don’t exceed the threshold, no report gets sent.. she confirmed it because for now the DAC7 rule is per account.. so I straight up asked her, can I make 5 accounts in my name and if I don’t exceed the threshold in any of the 5, do they then get added together? She answered absolutely not, because for now the rule we have is per account
alexdelfabbro
·1 year agoHi, so you want me to believe that an Ebay user can create multiple accounts with the same identifying information, tax code and bank account?... So as not to exceed sales or earnings limits, basically?
That seems very strange...
pam.creazioni
·1 year agoHe told me that for now they have instructions to send the reports to account.. please call too and ask the same question
quartzdrive
·1 year agoI don’t doubt your words or whether they really told you that, but I’m sure it isn’t like that and I advise you not to trust it. I don’t even trust it when I call the municipal police by phone or verbally to ask a question, because if a fine were to arrive I could never appeal on the grounds that I had been told by the officer (booohhh) on the phone. In fact, I had read somewhere about the multi-account issue; it would be possible to make even 100, but you’d have to have just as many accounts and IDs for those accounts, otherwise the physical person would still always be you, the wallet for the money would be the same, it doesn’t take long to arrive at that reasoning.
heavenwelkin
·1 year agoAt the moment yes, I can confirm that it is so.
If you have two or more selling accounts belonging to the same tax code, only the account that exceeds the DAC7 thresholds is reported.
If, for example, you have 3 accounts enabled for selling and you sell on all 3 without exceeding the thresholds, you are not reported for exceeding DAC7.
Obviously this is a BUG if we can call it that because the whole procedure will have to be improved and implemented by also correcting the counting system, they will certainly do it over time.
Thanks to this DAC7, ebay has been able to raise the sales limits for many sellers as I imagine ebay is no longer directly involved / responsible when it comes to private sellers who sell as professionals.
pam.creazioni
·1 year agoOh my God, I don’t know why you got it.. but I don’t think they sent it to the authorities because officially they were sent for 2024.. I assure you I had definitely exceeded the limits

ConsiderationeType defines the information on the consideration received by a

divided into four elements, which represent the quarters of the reference calendar year in
which the consideration was paid or credited to a reportable seller.
In this regard, consideration is considered paid or

The ConsQ1, ConsQ2, ConsQ3, ConsQ4 elements of type MonAmnt_Type (par. 6.3.17)

·1 year agoThe 2024 returns are filed in 2025 and become time-barred in 2030 (for those who do not file a 2024 return, it becomes time-barred in 2031); before 2029 they won't send anything (at most a few high-profile cases) .. then it will be a bloodbath and whoever receives compliance will suddenly find themselves with 6 years to sort out.
pam.creazioni
·1 year agoIn fact, I’m wondering that too.. why the quarterly data.. and I repeat, is the report sent to the German authorities the exact same one they sent to us? Same pdf?
aumaldo
·1 year agoThe data sent to the German authorities are not all the data present in the Report sent to users. Aside from data such as First Name and Last Name, Tax Code and Address, it seems that only the data marked with an asterisk were communicated.
albyanto
·1 year agoHello, but I noticed that my tax code is masked, as is the account number in the report? Does this mean that only in the event of an audit will they ask for the person's details?
aumaldo
·1 year agoI think at allAde the tax code and account number will arrive in full.
pam.creazioni
·1 year agoEven my tax code with my bank details.. and I also didn't understand the reason since eBay sent it to me.. and I also thought that maybe above certain amounts they would do a tax audit, but that these reports don't necessarily show up with one's tax office in May
arcobaleno2022
·1 year agoAs for the quarterly data breakdown, in my opinion, it is to highlight whether the sales are really occasional and not organized; for example, if in the second quarter I sell 35 items for 2,500 euros and nothing in the other quarters, it is more likely to be occasional sales that were concentrated in that period, unlike someone who in the first quarter makes 20 sales for 1,000 euros and so on in the same way for the other 3 quarters, in this case it is more likely to be an organized and ongoing sale and not occasional; all this in my opinion of course.
Regards
aumaldo
·1 year agoI had already assumed that this was the reason. I was wondering whether there had been an explicit request to that effect from the ADE. I think so; otherwise, why would Ebay have had to carry out this operation?
Does the DAC7 Circular refer anywhere to this breakdown? If not, have there been any other specific circulars on the matter?
pam.creazioni
·1 year agoNowhere is this mentioned.. and if you go to the tax agency to read the directive, it talks about income, not quarterly income.. we need to see whether this is an initiative by eBay or whether the other platforms also send quarterly reports.. we need to ask someone who, for example, sells on Vinted and received the report
aumaldo
·1 year agoBasically, is there somewhere a list of the platforms that have this obligation. I don't think Instagram (which I'm not even signed up for) and the like, which aren't buying and selling platforms, even if there everyone privately does their own thing...
heavenwelkin
·1 year agoWe can say that all marketplaces that handle electronic payments on behalf of buyers are directly involved.
By handling payments we mean acting as intermediaries between the seller and the buyer in managing credit card payments and their derivatives such as paypal.
When the buyer does not pay the seller directly but sends the payment to the marketplace, which then takes care of managing the whole process up to delivery of the item and/or confirmation of receipt of the item and/or confirmation that everything went well.
If on subito, fb marketplace or any other free classifieds site, group or forum, the seller and the buyer privately agree to do an in-person handoff on site, or the buyer makes a bank transfer, a postepay top-up, a money order, or a paypal payment directly to the seller, in these cases DAC7 does not apply.
aumaldo
·1 year agoOk, but isn't there an official list of the platforms operating in Italy? And what data was exactly requested from these platforms? For example, why did eBay split the data by quarter in the Report? Was it requested by the AdE (how, where, when?) or did it do it on its own initiative?
pam.creazioni
·1 year agoI read that all digital platforms where the platform itself acts as an intermediary are affected..so eBay, Amazon, Etsy, Vinted, Wallapop, Airbnb, Subito.it… so far I’ve read these names, but I think there are many others.. there are sites like Vestiarie where all it takes is selling one bag to get reported
technopartsbay
·1 year agoPlatforms where the intermediary does NOT collect directly, such as Discogs, are also included.
That is, where you are still paid directly by the seller, but it is through that platform that the deal is made and to which a small commission is paid (by the seller and/or buyer).
That’s why (for now) FB, IG, etc. are excluded: they are treated as nothing more than a classifieds board where seller and buyer agree with each other without going through the platform to complete the transaction.
Basically, it’s as if you put up an ad on a lamppost to sell a car... the lamppost will never send the data to the AdE (and will never collect any commissions...).
piripicchia59
·1 year agoI’m chiming in too.
Let’s just say I’m among those who are waiting and seeing; I won’t go on about the reasons, choices are always very personal, and I don’t like the sterile debates between “honest” and “dishonest” people.
I just wanted to point out to maybe the few who hadn’t noticed, although it was already mentioned days ago, that in calculating the total amount, into which the fees and other trimmings were rightly not included, the shipping costs were instead fully taken into account.
Now, to be precise, they should subtract a figure they don’t have: the actual shipping cost, which does not match the one in the listing.
Advice: gather all the receipts for shipments made and, if necessary, print them from the shipping portals (ebay spedizioni, iospedisco etc) because as soon as the ADE notice arrives, you file a small appeal asking that all (actual) shipping costs (documented) be subtracted from the total amount.
You can appeal all ADE notices within 60 days of notification, and then we’ll see.
pame.creazioni
·1 year agoHi, on my payout the shipping costs I incurred are not calculated.. only the 0.35 cents that eBay takes for each shipment.. then most of my listings have shipping included, but for each item I paid 2.80 euros in shipping costs and sometimes even more.. I have many receipts, but after months I threw many of them away.. regardless of the receipts, the items were shipped and most of the codes entered in the system
pam.creazioni
·1 year agosorry but let me get this straight.. and all those who have an Instagram page and act as sellers of their own items, making decent earnings, but the negotiations are private since they don't have a storefront with items to buy, can they sell freely and no directive flags them
ortofantastico
·1 year agoI’ll jump in:
each platform reports its own if it has to; multiple platforms aren’t cross-referenced and added together if you’re under the limits.
as for undocumented costs, during the adversarial process with ADE you can still ask for those costs to be recognized even if they aren’t documented (on a lump-sum basis); this already happens in cases of indirect assessment, just to give an example.
for those who make less than 2000 with more than 30 transactions a year, the main penalty is certainly not the one from ADE for unpaid IRPEF; it’s as if someone opened a shop, rolled up the shutter, put the products in the window, and did it without having done anything, completely unauthorized, and they get caught as soon as they open the shutter on the first day. IRPEF is not what they should be worried about.
tata9910
·1 year agoThe directive is incomplete and at the moment it is not possible to imagine a future scenario. Another question to ask is: if I make 28 sales on eBay, 28 on Subito, 28 on Vinted without ever exceeding 2,000 euros, I won’t be reported on any platform, so is this possible? I don’t think that if one is not reported to the authority, the latter will start searching all the transactions made on all platforms by all people. That would be unthinkable. Thx to whoever will reply
pam.creazioni
·1 year agoFor me this is a personal opinion.. I don't think that if eBay has a user who hasn't exceeded the limits, it asks other platforms whether that same user is also selling there .. then of course they could do everything and cross-check the data, but personally I don't think it would go that far.. unfortunately we'd have to try it to understand more
arcobaleno2022
·1 year agoNo need to cross-reference data or for eBay itself to ask other platforms whether the same user also sells there; when you register to create the account, a mandatory piece of information is the tax code, and through that they know how much has been earned, sales, and on which platform.
Best regards
pam.creazioni
·1 year agoSure, they could cross-check the data, but by chance a friend of mine who sells on both subito and vinted and didn’t exceed the limits taken separately, but did when you add them together, hasn’t received any email or any report so far.. for me, at least for this year they got away with it.. sure, if they then realize that users are starting to do this in future years they’ll do further checks

·1 year agogood morning everyone,
alleged tax evaders and non-tax evaders alike. Among the alleged tax evaders there is me too. I’d like to make a few clarifications since I’ve been dabbling in eBay for over 20 years. Let me start by saying that I have always exclusively sold family belongings (I have to empty three apartments, with attached garages and cellars, belonging to my parents, two accumulators of art objects. On top of that there are my toys and I can assure you that in that respect I was a very, very, spoiled child).
Aloha

·1 year agoGood morning viki_il_vichingo
I’m in your situation but at 35%
How much would any fines amount to??
What happens if you don’t declare and just let it slide??
Often discussions on the forum boil down to clashes between factions....... but sometimes things are a bit more complex and not always easy to interpret or resolve.
If you ask the accountant, they’ll tell you it’s better to pay to avoid any more complicated issues that are harder to resolve.
On the other hand, the accountant is dealing with a completely new issue and certainly doesn’t want to take responsibility.
Of course, if you declare everything and pay “what is due,” you won’t have any problems.
Thanks for sharing.

viki_il_vichingo
·1 year agodear marioelogio,
regarding the payment of taxes, I’m glad I’m not the first. Since it’s a % applied to an income, everything depends on the amount of the latter. I’m happy for you that your income is higher than mine....
Regarding the photos, I do actually have some. I don’t know if they count as proof, but you never know. It’s true that I don’t know anyone who has family photos in which all the household objects are pictured. Maybe some maniac...
I will pay (not "I would pay") 43% because for the ADE all turnover is income, since there isn’t a purchase price to reduce its value (my parents should have taken the photos with the purchase receipts, at least then I would have deducted those). The margin scheme applies if you can prove the margin; otherwise (I think, it’s not my field and I can see you’re much more knowledgeable than I am) I fear the margin is equal to the turnover.
Regarding your referenced reply to my point 6, I fully agree. It seemed implicit to me. I’m just saying that I doubt the ADE has enough staff to chase after everyone who in 2024 exceeded the limits set by DAC7. They’ll catch a few lucky ones at random, or maybe those who went way over. In my case (5,050 euros) I don’t think you could say I’d be a major tax evader, but since I’m not exactly a brave soul, I’d rather not take risks and pay. That will guarantee me peace of mind despite the burning at the "c" (hence the use of generous doses of Proctolyn).

·1 year agoGood morning aumaldo
NO, the numbers DO NOT ADD UP.
But I can also understand that since this isn’t a priority issue for ebay, they haven’t invested in a more elaborate calculation system that would take into account:
- missed payments
- cancellations
- undelivered items
- returns because of second thoughts
- partial returns for the purchase of multiple items
- returns for non-compliance
- paypal disputes, chargebacks,
etc
Kind regards

aumaldo
·1 year agoMaybe (and I stress maybe) I figured out how they count (or how they would like to count, barring material errors) sales. If the buyer purchases multiple items through Cart, only one sale is counted; if, on the other hand, the buyer doesn’t use Cart, but pays for the 2/3/4 items one by one, all sales are counted separately.
pam.creazioni
·1 year agoAlso because if someone sells 29 items in a year at only 5 euros each, they’re done for.. because they’d still be reported after the 30th item.. this directive doesn’t seem balanced to me.. they should have set higher limits
heavenwelkin
·1 year agoEven less than 5 euros.....
Stamps only Italy at 1 euro (private sellers only) 18,000 results
Comics only Italy at 1 euro (private sellers only) 7700 results
Coins only Italy at 1 euro (private sellers only) 2400 results
It just takes the passion and patience of an enthusiast to list and manage auctions at 1 euro with 0.35 in transaction fees, 5% in fees, regulatory compliance adjustment, with the risk of missed deliveries or alleged missed deliveries, refunds, the risk of negative feedback, and now also the DAC7 issue.
Surely this DAC7 directive could have been studied much better.....

·1 year agoHonestly, if all this is going to get us to May with various penalties, for me online sales are done.. and it makes me laugh what the various digital platforms will do once users start not selling anymore
gattomansueto
·1 year agoBut in May nothing will happen. Now that this document has been produced, the smartest choice is to indicate its value (but what value should be entered? The one listed as "Payment"?) in the "Other income" field of the 730, paying the related taxes, and that should be enough.
At most, it will be starting next year that someone can worry, in case they don’t indicate anything in this year’s 730, since the AdE, having received these reports from eBay, could do cross-checks and see that the figures indicated by eBay were not reported on the 730. Only then could it send some notice of objection, asking to regularize the situation by paying the related taxes plus penalties, but that would be at least next year. Nothing will happen this year at all.

·1 year agoThe point is exactly this: the limit of 30 annual transactions is simply RI DI CO LO US!!!
As long as it stays in place, it will make any serious check practically impossible!
Ebay will have to report literally millions of users to the German tax authorities! We’re also talking about people who make 50/60 sales with a total amount that doesn’t even reach 200 euros! What kind of tax dodger do you think they are? What are we even talking about? Thousands of people will be reported who are clearly neither tax dodgers nor illegal sellers nor any other kind of scum infesting this world. With the only result being to clog up a system that already isn’t exactly brilliant (it doesn’t seem to me that there have been any particular increases in revenue since we’re all tracked and everything is automated, but I could be wrong...)!
When they get serious, they’ll raise that limit by at least another digit or say that both limits will have to be exceeded in order to be reported. Only then will it be possible to have a number of reports that can be managed and therefore lead to concrete results!
Then you want to live peacefully? Declare them... and that’s that!

·1 year agoOf course it's ridiculous, they should have made the thirty sales, if they wanted, but with revenue of at least 2000 euros.. instead someone could have made 300 euros in revenue and 60 sales and gets reported anyway.. that's what's absurd.. but to me even they didn't realize how unbalanced this policy is

OP1 year agoDid everyone get the report via email from Ebay?

·1 year agoI got it as a message here on eBay.. I think also in email, but I haven't checked

·1 year agoIf these are your own items, whether used or new, it would be absurd to tax them too, in my personal opinion...
Then if I’m not mistaken, the huge difference between private and professional sellers is that for private sellers the rule is seen and accepted, so never accept returns; at least as far as I’m concerned, I’ve always sold without ever accepting any return of goods... whereas for professional sellers the rule is returns within 14 days, if I remember correctly, for any reason...
Also, €2000 in revenue and 30 transactions a year are not that hard to exceed, actually...(as a private seller, eh)...

·1 year agoThe “sold as seen” rule has no value in distance transactions, since the buyer can only see what the seller wants them to see. Since this is a clear unfair clause, it is automatically void.
The real difference is that the private seller is subject only to the civil code, while the professional seller is subject to the consumer code.
In the case of an item not conforming to the description, broken during shipping, or that has a defect that was not detailed in the listing, all sellers (private and professional) are obliged (by the civil code) to arrange the return at their own expense and to fully refund the buyer.
The professional seller is then required (by the consumer code) to allow the right of reconsideration (the buyer can return the item, at their own expense, without providing any reason). In addition, they are required to guarantee the product for 24 months (if new, or at least 12 if used).

·1 year agoOf course you're absolutely right, what I meant was that as a fair and serious seller, you always and in any case specify every item in every little detail, so if it has obvious defects and the condition, basically without wanting to rip anyone off, beyond the civil code (I'm telling you from my own experience, eh) it's actually Ebay that protects buyers 100%, for example it happened to me to sell an item in the United States last summer, the amount was around 170 euros shipping included. The buyer contacts me saying he had received the item damaged and therefore broken, for my part I'm sure I always and I mean always make bomb-proof packaging, even at the post office they complimented me on the assembly of my parcels. So from my point of view the buyer may have opened it from the box and dropped it and broken it himself, how would I know... moral of the story I lost the item, shipping costs and I didn't even want the item back... on which I might also have had to pay customs fees... that's what I meant, sometimes as a seller you can lose money and items (I repeat, selling as a private individual and not insuring items, basically).

·1 year agoSurely this directive may spark discussion, but no one just woke up now.. every year eBay is required to report to the financial police if there are excessive earnings.. 15 years ago a similar email arrived; for those who had made more than 1000 euros in the 2004/2009 period, they would report all sellers to the financial police.. as far as I know, it led to nothing.. let’s hope that’s the case this time too
alexdelfabbro
·1 year agoA couple of years ago, honestly I’ve always sold items I owned and made 1-2 thousand euros a year, I asked my accountant for info to know whether to declare them or not, since they were items I owned and insignificant amounts he clearly told me no... then I don’t know, every year the rules and laws change.
Different story for those with a turnover of 5k and up... just my personal opinion eh...
Lots of confused ideas though, but from my experience as a seller I mean if every platform charged a tax on any item sold, I’d be all for it, just to be sure not to get caught out or at fault, in short. We’ll see some good ones...

·1 year agoDon’t charge a tax for someone who sells once in a while.. rightly, a private individual selling their car might get upset if, on top of the fees, they have to pay a tax.. but they could charge a tax for anyone who has sold 30 items over the course of a year with 2000 euros in revenue .. that way they would solve the problem
secretuniversesrls
·1 year ago403 listings and he has the nerve to say "one-off." No, don't charge a tax for those who sell once in a while, but charge taxes and heavily fine abusive craftsmen on eBay.
The car every two years pays taxes on top of it, when you buy it, with the road tax, and when you sell it.
But how dare you behave like this, and think you're right?
pam.creazioni
·1 year agoPlease use a different attitude because a conversation was opened here to get some information.. you don't need to be interested in my 403 listings, I repeat it was my mistake.. and if you don't mind, until January 31 they will stay there since I paid.. you don't know anything about me, you don't know why I made certain choices instead of others and you don't know my life story.. I said it, you chose to sleep well at night, others didn't.. no one here wants to be right, but you do!! For you, Italy's problems are private sellers who sell on eBay.. you should work for eBay support, then the problem would be solved and no one would sell online anymore
albyanto
·1 year agoin fact when I did the 730 I always asked too if I had to declare the income from eBay by selling something online, they always told me there was no need to declare it (used items that I owned)
quartzdrive
·1 year agoExactly, in another discussion I had actually suggested paying a higher percentage, once the limit threshold was exceeded, that would include the amount due as taxes. But we’re in Italy and anyone would take advantage of it, enormously.
secretuniversesrls
·1 year agoWe really hope not! We hope they fine all of you unlicensed sellers for everything you haven’t paid in, and make you pay everything you’ve evaded.
You have the faintest idea of the difference between a sales permit and tax evasion. If you sell handmade items made by you, you buy materials and then resell them. I really don’t think you’re making your yarn and beads from scraps found around the house.
The more unlicensed you are, the more you look for justifications and ways to dodge. Do you call eBay support for accounting advice? You’re ridiculous. eBay looks after its own interests; it pushes you to sell what you have left over at home, not to do crafts without being registered and with a chamber of commerce.
Keep evading in broad daylight, it’s 2025, everything is traceable.
In your opinion, tax evaders, we’re the fools who pay taxes on everything, and you complain if you evade them.

·1 year agoand me too when I did the outdoor markets I had authorization to do it without any problems, as long as the items were made by me.. I'm convinced that this directive will try to root out all those sellers who make exaggerated earnings over the course of a year without being compliant.. my personal opinion is that they definitely won't target ridiculous amounts of earnings.. anyway I chatted with the eBay assistant and they reassured me about this report saying that nothing changes
alexdelfabbro
·1 year agoanyway I chatted with the eBay assistant and she reassured me about this report, saying that nothing changes...
Hi, what exactly did the Ebay assistant tell you, if I may ask?
pam.creazioni
·1 year agoThey have to do it for this directive, but our data is protected and nothing will change.. sure, I don't take those words as gospel, but I think that for now no one can know for sure how everything will evolve

·1 year agoJust Vinted alone has millions of active users, and with clothes it’s easy to reach 30 items sold.
In my opinion they can’t carry out checks on everyone because they wouldn’t be able to handle them.
Considering that according to the tax data for 2022, 47% of Italians did not declare any income (so no 730)
The only reasonable thing they could do would be to send fines for exceeding the DAC7 thresholds to everyone who didn’t declare them.
A while back there were articles that talked precisely about dac7, and fines for exceeding the thresholds that were not declared.
Many private individuals, to avoid unwanted surprises, will include these amounts in their tax return.
As for that 47% who doesn’t file any return, I imagine they won’t be losing sleep over it 😎

·1 year agoWell, it turns out that I made 45 sales for a profit of less than 500 Euro, I can’t believe they’ll hassle me and leave alone the person who sold for 1900 Euro but with 29 transactions. Hoping that whoever checks me has at least some common sense, I should sleep easy, or at least I hope...
