Good morning, I have a question about an issue that I’ll try to explain briefly. At the end of December I bought an item that was supposed to be a gift for a child for Epiphany. Delivery was scheduled for January 2-3, so, to be on the safe side and avoid failed delivery attempts, I selected delivery to an eBay pickup point, whose details were already entered in the system. Despite this selection, however, the first delivery attempt was unsuccessful for "incomplete details", so I contacted the seller to unblock the delivery, which however took place almost a week after Epiphany, and of course in the meantime I had arranged something else for the gift. Now, since I no longer need the item, up to today I have not collected the parcel at the pickup point so that it would be returned to the seller, but I don’t know whether I will be refunded later, and neither does the seller, since he says the funds are on hold. To cut a long story short, then, I thought I would collect the parcel (I have until tomorrow) and send it back to the sender through a return request, but then I discovered that the label is paid for and honestly it doesn’t seem right at all to have to pay for a mistake I didn’t make, considering that, having selected the eBay pickup point, it’s certainly not my fault if the parcel arrived very late. So the question is: if I don’t collect the parcel and it is returned to the sender, am I entitled to a refund by virtue of the return request I have already opened, or do I absolutely have to collect it and send it back with the paid label?
