omitted feedback from sellers
I don't understand why foreign sellers almost always leave their feedback as soon as I have paid (and I pay right away).. while Italian sellers rarely leave feedback right away, and lately they don't even leave it after receiving my positive. When the buyer has fulfilled their duty to pay RIGHT AWAY at the time of purchase, they no longer have any pending issues with the seller... but apparently in some mindsets there's some strange hidden thought

·3 years agolet's also say that feedback for the buyer is almost useless (neutral or positive), and in fact if I have to look at a private seller's reputation I only filter as seller ... so increasing your reputation by getting it as a buyer is of little use.
Useless because the only variable to consider is whether they have paid, and until they pay I don't ship anything, so they don't cause me any "damage". If they then don't pay, they automatically get the unpaid item report. If someone then wants to avoid this variable too, they can activate the "immediate payment" option on the product page.
At most buyers can be a pain in the ass by asking 500 questions and not buying or by repeating nonsense offers ... in all these cases my feedback is ... block them.

·3 years agoit also depends ...... on who you're buying from: obviously if it's a professional seller with lots of daily transactions, they set automatic feedback at the time of payment (in short: they don't waste time doing it manually, logically)
different is the case of a private seller, who may choose to leave feedback after receiving it (if they then don't leave it anyway...... everyone makes their own judgments, in any case feedback is optional )
so foreign sellers are not necessarily more "virtuous" in giving feedback first, and anyway there are differences from country to country (a matter of mentality....... ) : in the end whoever leaves it first, among other things, figures that they don't lose anything either way (also because they can't leave neutral or negative feedback..... )

·3 years agoWriting in the feedback "DOES NOT leave feedback" seems extremely excessive to me, since leaving feedback is completely optional and should not be written in the feedback as a MARK OF DISAPPROVAL.
And yet you've been a member since 2005, you should know these things by now.
Kind regards.

·3 years agoProbably it's a matter of mentality, the lack of concern for others that there is. And after the pandemic, when people were shouting "we'll come out of it better!" I see people coming out of it worse and more bitter!
Feedback for the buyer, let's say, matters less (since negative ones are no longer allowed), especially if they're not a new user and already have some history of positive ones, but of course it would be courteous for the seller to leave it after receiving it.

·3 years agoFeedback is optional... and that should already be enough...
There is no rule that forces the seller to do it in a certain way, since even ebay allows it to be left to discretion, whether before or after.
Since, therefore, Italy should be a democratic country... let everyone have their own mindset... whether you consider it right or not... thinking that feedback will change your life... that's old-fashioned!
Kind regards.

·3 years agoIt's true that feedback doesn't change your life, but it's very useful. All the more so if the sale went well and there are no problems, what would it cost to leave it? I now, when the buyer has received the package, send a message to ask whether they were satisfied with the purchase. But they don't even reply.

Often when you use an online service you’re asked to leave a rating (maybe on trustpilot)
Often when you ask the call center for help you’re asked to leave a review of the operator or maybe the operator themselves urges you to do it at the end of the call.
The same could be said for purchases on amazon when you’re asked to leave a review of the purchase.
When the service we’ve used asks us for a review or a rating, do we always do it or just move on??
If a buyer doesn’t get in touch once they’ve received the item, it means it’s fine like that, that for them the sale is over and they don’t want to interact with the seller beyond what’s necessary.
On ebay I simply leave any feedback ONLY after the buyer has left theirs.
In the event that a buyer contacts me and asks me to exchange feedback, I reply affirmatively to confirm and I also leave theirs first.
Kind regards.

·3 years agoAs I was saying, it’s this lack of respect and attention toward others that is now predominant in today’s society; you can see it in everyday life and it shows up here too.
As you say, feedback doesn’t change your life, but it’s useful especially for sellers, even more so if they’re just starting out, because it helps build a track record that then helps the seller themselves with sales, but also the buyer in choosing which seller to trust.
I often preferred to buy the same item at a higher price but from sellers with positive feedback and/or experience. Obviously, in the case of 1/2 negative f-backs from the seller, I go and read the details of the transaction, because everyone eventually runs into one difficult, rude and/or dishonest buyer, and often a few red ones among many green ones does not mean the seller is not reliable; just reading the percentage is relative.
The only thing you can do is write in your listings that feedback will be left after you have received it.
