By making a bank transfer to the seller, you’re putting yourself in their hands; you won’t have any eBay buyer protection. If anything happens, no one will be able to help you.
Ask the seller to create a custom listing with the item and the changes you requested, so that you can buy it through eBay.

If you’ve asked for modifications to an item and so you’re having it customized, you can ask the seller to open a new auction that includes these changes.
Absolutely do not send payments via bank transfer and do not make purchases outside of eBay because you wouldn’t be protected.
So ask the seller to open an auction where you then pay as usual within eBay.

On eBay it’s forbidden to complete sales outside of eBay.
