Do you know whether PayPal’s 3-installment payment option shows up in the payment methods when it’s offered for that item while you’re about to check out? Or is it only offered once you’re already at the final stage of payment (when you connect with PayPal and sometimes you have to enter the password; because oddly enough PayPay doesn’t always ask for the password)? The reason I’m asking is this:
First of all, I’d like to be able to choose and decide before checking out whether to split the payment into installments. Second; I wouldn’t want another experience like the one I had with "Klarna" (unlike PayPal, they have the option to choose the payment method at the start). They initially approved my payment of 279.00 euros (in three installments of 93) for a lawn mower (I thought it would be more convenient to pay that way, especially since we’re in the holiday season), but then backed out and told me the amount to be paid was too high and asked me to make a lower purchase (even though the total amount was clearly shown on the same eBay page!). Have you ever had a similar experience? I haven’t!

·1 year agoApparently Klarna offers the service and then carries out the verification, while paypal does the opposite, that is, it offers the service only after verification.
The verification can only be done at the time of payment, when they link the account and the amount to be paid, and it generally consists of verifying the reliability of the payment system associated with the account. Obviously a black or gold card is more reliable than a prepaid one.

OP1 year agoHi Mario, thanks for the reply. It may be as you say, but in my case the 3-installment payment not only had been accepted but they had also processed it and sent the first payment to my bank; after naturally asking me for and receiving the information from my credit card linked to the Ebay/PayPal account!
The reason the initial transaction didn't go through; it wasn't the amount being too high but my carelessness and forgetfulness in not including the verification OTP they sent me; my Shop Pin code, which resulted in my bank refusing to accept the first installment charge.
Then, after a second attempt by me (still unaware of what was happening and of the need to enter the Shop Pin code). On the subsequent attempts, the code didn't work because the bank blocked the
purchases on the card. The moral is that Klarna, instead of notifying me that the verification number wasn't
working, made up the amount of the purchase being too high and asked for a lower purchase amount! On the verification matter, mentioned by you; PayPal says it is done at the conclusion of the last 3-installment payment and they assess whether you are eligible or not, in fact today I was able to complete the 3-installment transaction with PayPal without any problem. And bye, bye Klarna, they will never get any requests from me!

since you’re talking about ShopPin on PayPal, I would like to understand what to do to add a new card because when it asks to enter the code received by SMS, it also asks for the 4-digit ShopPIN code. Can you tell me where I can find it and what it is, and if possible, if you know how I can recover it, sorry again and thanks
