Japan customs fees
Hello, I wanted to know whether, following the purchase of a product through an auction, VAT charges are collected directly by eBay or by customs, and whether they are assessed on the actual value or on the purchase price. On the list of offers on my eBay, I see the note "VAT will be applied for an amount of +EUR 1.54",

·3 years agoVAT is applied to the total paid to eBay.
Normally it is paid to eBay, then when it arrives in Italy you pay customs charges to the carrier (for customs clearance assistance) and duties (if due for amounts over 150 euros).
If VAT is requested, even by mistake by the courier, just have an invoice made showing the VAT paid the second time and, with this documentation, it is possible to request a refund of the amount paid to eBay.

In any case, the courier's receipt invoice is needed, showing the VAT line item.
