Return shipping costs
On the purchase tab for a product I read exactly: "Returns within 30 days | The seller pays return shipping costs | See details- for more information on returns
I go to the details and read: "The seller pays return shipping costs".
Only after a careful review of the entire content of the details page (kind of like an insurance policy) do I discover that in some cases these costs are my responsibility.
This behavior by eBay seems a bit unprofessional to me.

·3 years agoIt depends on the situation: if the seller is a professional (with a VAT number), you have the right to reconsider, but return shipping costs are your responsibility unless the seller offers them. In case of non-compliance of the item received (you order one item and another one arrives, it doesn’t work, it’s not in the condition described in the listing, etc., etc.), you are entitled to free return shipping costs even from a private seller.
The fact that the cases are listed so that you can read them, in my opinion, can’t be identified as unprofessional behavior; it would have been if I hadn’t found all the detailed information. Then if you tell me that finding your way through the maze of the platform’s rules and regulations takes time and patience, I can only agree.

With 9.90 euros including shipping, taxes, eBay fees and markup, you can't buy an original HUAWEI battery.
If the battery bears HUAWEI lettering and logos, it is most likely a COPY/CLONE battery, aesthetically identical to the original but with lower capacity.
In my opinion, if he doesn't want to spend 50 euros for the original battery, he could consider settling for what he received.
Because it doesn't mean that by buying another 10-euro battery, it will match the original in terms of capacity and performance.

·3 years agoThe linked post points to an eBay auction for a non-removable battery replacement part, so I doubt that once the buyer has pried open and glued back together the smartphone to install the battery, they would decide to return it just because they changed their mind (then again, anything is possible).
It could be presumed that the battery is not as described, since it does not live up to the promised stated capacity.
If you make a return for an item not as described by opening the appropriate dispute, the return shipping costs are borne by the seller.

·3 years agoOnce the seals are removed and it is installed, it is almost impossible to return it even for non-compliance (it is almost impossible to prove that it was not an installation error). Specialized repair centers are able to test the components before removing the seals.

·3 years agoThere are rules that the professional seller (with legal headquarters in one of the EU countries) must comply with. These rules (consumer code d. legs. 206/05) also regulate return shipping costs both in the case of change of mind and non-conformity ( ....in some cases these costs are at my expense). eBay rules certainly cannot go against national legislation.
The individual seller is then free to offer more favorable terms than those set out in the law (and in eBay rules), for example: the change of mind period is extended from 14 to 30 days; some sellers cover return shipping costs even in the case of change of mind; etc...

·3 years agoBut in fact it depends case by case, so there can’t be a single, fixed rule.
If you specify your issue, someone will be able to tell you whether the return shipping costs are your responsibility or the seller’s.
