ankle boots purchased less than 15 days ago eBay as usual on the scammers' side
Summary: The thread discusses the problems encountered by gloriursim with a pair of ankle boots purchased less than 15 days ago on eBay. The main issue seems to be the perception that eBay does not adequately protect consumers, instead favoring scammers. The participants, including heavenwelkin, cizeta1964, and vonbalden, share their experiences and opinions about the platform, highlighting similar frustrations and suggesting possible solutions or alternatives to address the issue of poor buyer protection.
bought a pair of ankle boots about 20 days ago but after about 10 days or so of wearing them they already have problems --- like the upper coming apart and the sole of the right boot breaking, which lets water in - dispute opened with eBay but as usual eBay sides with the clever thief and scammer seller --- in less than or about 15 days from purchase and worn less than 10 days these defects should not show up in the product bought -- all I have left is to file a claim with PayPal since I made the payment with PayPal what do you say, do you recommend

·6 months agoIt’s hard that even paypal could rule in your favor for a pair of boots you’ve used.......
The item you should return would no longer be in its original condition nor suitable to be put back on sale.
If you had been able to notice the poor quality of the product without damaging or wearing it out, you could have made the return directly on ebay.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Best regards.

OP5 months agobut in your opinion should an item already get damaged after just a few days of being worn --- the quality seemed excellent -- then to be precise paypal closed the case in my favor without even opening it for a few minutes --- I had just submitted it when it was immediately closed in my favor -- it seems that for them an item should not get damaged after a few days --- maybe it was also one or it is also a counterfeit of a better-known brand company regards

Given the price... I'd say so, don't you think?

·5 months agoThere are countless cases on sales platforms where a user receives an item that is either completely different from the one advertised, or utterly unsuitable. Often of very poor quality, which probably had a 'bait' price set to draw the attention of the general public. Nowadays, professional sellers of everyday goods have a sort of not-insignificant economic problems due to an unstable market that, at the slightest sneeze, presents an ever-rising bill. They try to make up for it with so-called assault items, all made in the East where labor costs are almost zero and the product is often unsuitable for European standards. It would be fine if it cost a few euros, but the poor professional online shoe seller has to monetize, no matter the cost. To safeguard their purchase, the user must pay attention to certain procedures in order to be refunded. As in all situations in life. That is, they must carefully inspect the shoe received before wearing it. An indecent shoe is obvious right away. The upper is made of fake leather, ready to fade within a few days; there are no stitches in the sole, which is glued on somehow; the insoles are hard and uneven, cut crookedly, and often the unknown fantasy brand bodes ill: 'Calzabell' or 'Lorilei' the original that suits you six. As soon as you read the origin, you sit down to catch your breath. This control behavior must be the norm. Because to me it seems, but it's only my impression, that in many sectors we've reached the end of the line, as they say. Best regards from von.

OP5 months agoIt happened with another seller but they were made in Italy, maybe made in Naples -- I can say that certain shoes made in China are better than those made in made Naples -- regards

·5 months agoPersonally, I don't agree with paypal's decision.
If you had bought the shoes in a physical store, I doubt you would have gotten your money back.
In any case this feedback is not compliant and, on request, you can have it removed
You can't write a positive feedback with negative content; moreover, when the seller writes "don't sell him anything" he is leaving non-compliant content.
Kind regards.

·5 months agoThis experience of yours also seems like A NEW THING to me, since PayPal complaints take at least several days to be closed.
You have to give the seller time to respond through eBay, but apparently to make the user experience as satisfying as possible, an immediate refund is offered to the buyer without hearing what the seller has to say.
Needless to say, in this case too I do not agree with how the dispute unfolded.

OP5 months agomy dear, I gave the seller time to reply on ebay but he only made insults and insults even about the items I had for sale -- just only insults --- many items for sale, shoes, he says made in Italy but maybe made in Naples given that they last very little, regards

·5 months agoIt happened to me to buy in a shop a pair of elegant leather shoes, paid over 150 euros in cash, which after 2 or 3 uses the stitching at the front came apart.
I took the shoes to a cobbler to have them fixed.....
If I had gone to the shop, what should I have done?
Threaten the seller for having sold me shoes of dubious quality?
What could I have obtained from a confrontation with the seller?
A refund of what I paid? I highly doubt it......
Should I have filed a complaint?
Let's say I wouldn't have expected that from PayPal because in the past an item NO LONGER IN ITS ORIGINAL CONDITION would not have been allowed through.
Evidently PayPal also knows that nowadays users are largely aware that they can request a chargeback that the bank grants them for the most varied reasons in 80% of cases.

·5 months agoHi Heavenwelkin, I'm speaking from my experience in the stores where I work (which don't sell shoes, but still consumer goods): if the seller is an authorized dealer of the brand and the product they sold is somehow damaged/worn out before its time, first they ask the manufacturer for authorization for a return/replacement/repair. Depending on the answer, they act accordingly, but if you come back with the purchase receipt after a certain amount of time, the dealer should offer you assistance with any repair and/or replacement, whether paid or not.

·5 months agoThanks for the info cizeta1964
Unfortunately in my case they were definitely reproduced / imitation shoes since from the packaging it was impossible to trace any phone number or address of any kind.
In Italy the weekly markets are full of these items produced in Italy in officially nonexistent "factories".
But many physical stores also buy these items.
I needed them urgently and bought them without doing enough research.
As a buyer I should have paid more attention.
