Good evening
I’d like to tell you about my situation: ebay withdrew 1324 euros from my account, for no reason.,
or at least the initial reason was that they had issued refunds and so they needed to take this money back; the fact is that ebay never gave me the money from the sales (they always kept it) and so all the refund money paid to customers was covered by a supposed balance blocked by ebay. After I sent proof that ebay had never paid any money into my account, they understood that they had made a mistake and that this money belongs back to me
but 16 days have passed and ebay still hasn’t refunded me, and I must have called more than 20 times
and their answers are always that the relevant department is resolving the issue
now I say, after 16 days you made a mistake and since 4/05 they were supposed to call me to let me know how they intended to refund me
the fact that that money was taken from me without reason was money that was supposed to be used to pay for urgent things, and every day that passes they are creating serious problems for me
now I’m turning to you: what should I do? ask ebay for an additional refund? sue ebay and ask for compensation equal to all the problems they are causing me?
if you have any solution, could you tell me how to proceed?
thank you

·1 year agoIf you intend to do a class action, I agree.
Ebay only protects buyers and not sellers

·3 years agoBut then how did it end up?
Anyway, in theory prepaid debit cards with IBAN shouldn’t allow you to go overdrawn, and when there isn’t any money the transaction “in theory, at least” shouldn’t go through.
It’s better to use a dedicated account just for receiving eBay credits, with any debits that you can handle yourselves (so the account should be kept empty).
If eBay needs to have money, there’s always time and a way to get it to them....
One thing is to receive an email from eBay telling us that the request to debit 1324 euros didn’t go through.
Another thing is to see 1324 euros taken automatically and then have to struggle with Italian support, which has to liaise with the German one.
Kind regards.

·3 years agoI imagine that, since he recently sold again, he must have gotten the money for his share...... still, it remains that when someone asks on the forum, almost nobody ends up saying how it turned out, except in very rare cases (also for various reasons..... not least that they have the faintest idea where they’re posting...., back then I had compared it to going to see a film and leaving at the halfway point....)

·3 years agoI went to look at the type of auctions that user giovannarb_0 has listed on eBay and there are several violations of the rules.
But then also the buyers who purchase an iPhone 14 Pro for 50 euros and it also says READ DESCRIPTION (apart from the fact that there are rule violations).
quote: NB: THE PRICE INDICATED IN the listing is only exclusively because eBay, as a seller account, lets me put a maximum of 500 euros of products up for sale per month
Accepted payments : BANK TRANSFER
Or cash with hand delivery in the Avellino area
Or payment through a link to our portal .
What is the seller asking us to do? First of all, find out how eBay works, and respect the rules.
Kind regards.

·3 years agoI had seen it.... I prefer not to comment, also because, if we look closely, it is registered as a business...... (too bad that neither VAT number nor tax code is indicated), registered in a location in Sardinia, in-person pickup in the Naples or Avellino area... then I can go on......
NOTE: then some people are surprised when their account gets suspended...

·3 years agoThere’s a red feedback where a buyer would seem to have paid outside eBay as well.
In my opinion eBay should (for new accounts and for accounts reactivated after years of inactivity) monitor the posting of listings.
It would avoid a lot of problems because users in 2023 who get taken in by such ads have their limits, and the only help for them would be not to let them find such ads.
But how do you pay 20 euros for a new S23 worth 1000 euros without even going to read the auction description.
For those who instead got as far as reading the auction description......
But how do you pay outside eBay 750 euros via bank transfer ??
There are still many, perhaps too many, users who do not have a great ability to discern and who really need greater protections from eBay.
It is enough to put a tech gadget up for sale at a bargain price to make many users lose their heads and then commit huge stupid mistakes.
Kind regards.

·3 years agoSomething similar happened to me, I sold an item, the package was lost or even stolen, eBay obviously refunded the buyer and didn't even reimburse me for the final value fees. If that's not a scam....the funds were withheld from subsequent sales, they're very clever, but also acting in bad faith. Who protects sellers?
marioelegio
·3 years agoOnce they called them insurance policies. I think they still exist and you can insure the package.
If you don't voluntarily provide the refund, ebay will take care of it. Then it finds a way to get the money back and you end up losing fees and costs for handling the case.
bye

·1 year agoHi, I have the same problem as you, how did you solve it?
Thanks a lot

·4 years agogiven that E-bay, since it made it mandatory for sellers to link a current account, has caused quite a bit of trouble, and apparently it still hasn’t resolved some things;
that said, besides waiting for E-bay to solve the problem for you (and, as I’ve already said, on some matters a sloth is maybe faster.....) consider what Mario said, I don’t see many other ways
just out of curiosity (and if you feel like replying, obviously) : I don’t see any recent sales on this account of yours, but were the refunds for sales from less than 90 days ago on this account? How exactly did E-bay justify the refunds?

·2 years agoSomething similar happened to me just a few days ago. I had to refund a customer because eBay wasn’t sending me the payment, but I couldn’t because eBay blocked the refund, the 7 phone calls didn’t help, they took more than €200 from me for the transaction fee. In just a few years eBay, with all its countless mistakes, has stolen more than €1000 from me!!! People need to know that this platform is NOT SAFE FOR EITHER BUYERS OR SELLERS!! What can be done about it??

·2 years agofor those who don't read the rules and don't inform themselves....... maybe not selling on eBay could be a good idea.....

·2 years agoGood morning
7 phone calls ?
Poor support........ beyond eBay’s rules and regulations (which are most likely not well known), if you use electronic payments (credit/debit cards) and their derivatives like PayPal, Google Pay, Apple Pay, etc., the buyer is protected by DEFAULT compared to the seller.
So if you decide to sell remotely with these payment systems, you have to take these “risk” factors into account.
Not only on eBay, but also on Subito with tutto e subito, Vinted, etc.
Even if you decide to do a direct sale between the seller and the buyer via PayPal, for example, things don’t change much compared to eBay.....
I’m sorry for the inconvenience.
Best regards.
