Permanent account suspension, without explanation and for no reason
Hi everyone,
After around forty sales and about 30 positive feedback messages received, today I got the following message from eBay:
Dear andmo_7349,
We are informing you that your eBay account has been permanently restricted from selling due to activity that we believe is risky for the eBay Community. We understand your frustration, but this is a decision we made after careful review. Measures like this are essential for the safety of our marketplace. Learn more about the ways and reasons account restrictions may be applied.
Here’s what you need to know
Here’s what you need to know
- You will no longer be able to use your account to sell on eBay. If you open new accounts, those may also be restricted.
- Any listings you may have had were removed and can be viewed below. - Any fees for listings ended early because of this violation will not be credited to your account.
- You can continue to place bids and buy items from other sellers.
The only things I’ve sold here are Pokémon cards and packs that are absolutely genuine, and that is proven by the listing photos and buyer feedback.
Besides not understanding why this happened, I can’t contact eBay in any way and they’ve blocked about €150 in incoming payments that I had set for the first Tuesday of April..how do I get at least that money?
They can even close my account, because frankly they’ve really worn me out; nowadays Vinted and similar platforms are light years ahead, but I’d expect to get the money I made from my sales... and maybe even get a plausible explanation.
Thanks in advance

OP3 years agoFor the payment, no administrative problem, checking account ok, payments for purchases always made regularly..I still can't wrap my head around it, and the stupidity of the modus operandi

OP3 years agoAnd I mean permanently, because I managed to contact customer service, who confirmed it to me: permanent and definitive.
It seems totally illogical and pointless to me, and I really don’t think I’ve committed any offense punishable by a permanent block.
In this way they are driving away thousands of customers who for obvious reasons are moving to Vinted, good for them.
I just hope I can get my credit back, because on top of everything else they can’t keep my money, that would be way too sneaky

Mentore3 years agoThere’s a recent negative and a sale of a product for which the sales method is prohibited for you (the expansions you would have sent with photos via WA). In any case, to justify such a serious measure there should have been previous warnings.
I don’t know about the credit, but you need to contact customer service. If the block is due to an administrative issue, until you resolve it.....

OP3 years agoHi, first of all thanks for the reply.
The funny thing is that the negative was one of my first feedbacks, and it’s from an American who blatantly scammed me by claiming he received a defective card when mine, as you can see from the photos, was perfect. I understand that both versions are equally disputable and I lost a good card and €71, it sucks, but oh well.
I used to send the card codes via WhatsApp because it’s the quickest method and the one everyone uses, there are millions of them on eBay and similar sites, after all it’s like handing them over in person, I don’t think it’s a shipping issue.
That said, the thing that really annoys me, and quite a lot, is that I checked email, notifications and messages, I don’t have any warnings or notices of any kind, they can’t just block an account for life overnight.

OP3 years agothis is my situation, not a problem, not a late shipment, standards above average...what's wrong?
