Buyer declares that they have received an empty package
Summary: The discussion concerns a case in which a buyer stated that they had received an empty package. thecollec_52 raised the issue, to which marioelegio replied briefly. This is followed by further exchanges between the same participants, but without any additional specific information.
Good morning everyone,
I sold an item to a buyer, shipped it the same day (Friday), and on Monday at 13:45 the package is regularly delivered with a signature (I should mention that I use suitable packaging with bubble wrap and polystyrene)
The customer doesn’t open a complaint on eBay, but calls PayPal saying the package was empty.
The next day my funds are blocked on eBay and I call right away.
They ask me for the tracking info, etc., and it shows delivered with signature.
So I write to the customer asking what happened, and his reply was: the courier left the package in front of my house and I only got home in the evening and found it opened and empty, with only some newspaper inside. (Something I don’t use for packaging)
I immediately tell eBay that there are inconsistencies with the description of the package, etc., and the eBay assistant reassures me, saying that since he screwed himself over with that description, they would side with me.
Now I log into eBay and find the dispute closed in his favor… without any ifs or buts, but with 210 euros deducted. Moreover, since he stated that the package was empty, of course he doesn’t even have to return it…
is there anything I can do? We both have positive feedback

Mentore1 year agoThis is one of the typical risks of remote transactions and applies to all platforms. Although they are rare cases, if the buyer wants to screw you over and doesn't make any procedural mistakes, you have no way out.
