As the title says. I sold a new headlight and the customer returned a clearly used headlight of a different brand. Even though I had photos of the product I shipped, eBay sided with the buyer both in the dispute and on appeal. I attached only one comparison photo because of the attachment limit, but I had given eBay more images to make the point even clearer.
What can I do? It’s not so much about the amount as it is about principle. It’s unacceptable to protect someone who acts so unfairly.

Mentore3 months agoIn distance selling, it’s impossible to prove that the returned product isn’t the same as the one that was shipped.
Assuming that I believe what you wrote, you also have to consider the fact that you could have photographed a taillight and then shipped a different one, or you could have photographed something other than what you received.
Fabricating these "proofs" is so easy that no one considers them valid anymore.
Sorry, but this can happen in any distance sale on any platform. If an honest seller runs into a cunning dishonest one, the seller has no way out. Luckily, most buyers are still honest people.
