Dishonest buyer

Hello, I sold a watch (Hamilton) to this person, to say the least, dishonest. He wants to return it because the bracelet says china and so for him it’s fake. I showed him some photos of the reference online and everything matches. The watch is original and fully matches the listing. It’s like saying a Nike shoe is fake because it says Made in China. He keeps insisting it’s fake. Can I rest easy about the claim?

No.

If they opened a claim against you for item not as described, you are obliged to deal with it and provide a return label to get the item back... otherwise you lose both money and item.

If you are not sure about the watch's provenance (simple references on the internet don't guarantee authenticity) maybe you should not have sold it.

Of course I'm sure! The watch is original. Basically all vintage watches come without the box and papers. You can say absolutely anything and the opposite of anything and eBay will always side with the buyer. This platform is scandalous; it doesn't protect honest people

I’d say no.
The person who will have to judge the dispute will hardly have the expertise to determine whether the watch is genuine or fake.

If in doubt, they’ll side with the buyer.
