Buyer reports that the product arrived damaged..!?
Hello.
I sold a 1:18 scale model car to a buyer in Austria.
shipped in perfect condition via DPD.. I receive the message that the product arrived damaged. From the photos sent to me by the customer, it makes me think it’s a scam.. (switching my NEW model with the customer’s used and damaged one).. original box intact, but the model inside has fall damage (bent metal).. I have sold and bought model cars in the past (private collection) so I know how to package things so as not to damage the goods..
How should I handle it and what can I do?
Customer is asking for a refund of 180 euros - but I can’t accept!! I’ll be left with neither the money nor the model (well, the model yes, but broken!!)
Thanks to anyone who replies.
How should I behave?

Mentore3 years agoHello,
unfortunately, this is the classic situation of the less-than-honest buyer...
You need to try to minimize the damage... if you refuse to accept the request they have opened or will open for you, you risk losing money and the item.
So arrange the return at your own expense and then once you have received the item you will have to refund it...
It’s annoying... I’m aware of that.
Kind regards.

OP3 years agoI'm not thinking about it at all... rather, I'm going to go find him

Mentore3 years agoOk... so wait for the return request to be opened and then update us on how it went... so there’s no point asking how you “should” behave if you already know what you intend to do...
Best regards.

OP3 years agoI apologize.
I saw that only buyers are protected here..
he screwed me over in broad daylight!!
I know what I sent him, and from the photos he sent me I don't think it's "my" product, and I don't want to blame the courier b/c I saw damage to the little car but not to the box..
Tomorrow I'll talk to the courier..what can I do.
Thanks again.
