Lying buyers... doesn't eBay offer any protection?
Hello,
I’m fairly new to selling on eBay and I’ve already found myself in the same situation twice,
namely buyers who send refund requests for "item not as described"
in order to get their money back and keep the item, or send it back damaged.
And this despite the fact that I sold the item with photos and a full description
and did not accept returns, also proving that the user is lying with
screenshots of the messages or the feedback they sent me where they themselves say they may have
modified or damaged the item.
Why is there no way to protect yourself? eBay immediately blocks any other incoming funds
and gives me no other option except the refund. What can I do besides stopping
selling on this platform?

Mentore2 years agoIn any remote sale, on any platform that uses payment methods like credit cards or Paypal, if you run into a dishonest buyer, you're out of luck (you could always end up in the wrong on paypal or you could take a chargebak from the buyer's credit card provider).
You should use classified ads like subito, but only with direct hand delivery to the buyer and simultaneous cash payment.

OP2 years agoWell then that's exactly what I'll do.
And I really think that then I'll become "dishonest" too... apparently that's how it works.
Thanks for the reply.
