Purchases blocked and unlawfully HELD by UK customs in Lichfield
Item number: 375399481632
Item number: 145746007584
Good evening: I am putting a question to you that, I think, requires a clear and, if possible, prompt answer, given the importance of the TWO "cases" described.
The two items at the top of the page were "banned" by the Lichfield Center and held with the following "reason"----
"The item in question has been deemed subject to restrictions. This may be due to import/shipping restrictions or International Shipping Program eligibility requirements. The item will not be shipped to you nor returned to your seller"
Which appears to be a blatant abuse if we consider that I buy many identical items on eBay, as well as heavy British WWII military equipment, ALL received without problems, one in particular since it was just delivered this morning: eBay item number: 204779336482, also routed through Lichfield UPAAG000000063508985 number. The perplexity is unavoidable! WHO, at Lichfield, "pockets for free" these items held and NOT returned without reason or any explanation whatsoever? What "end" do innocent obsolete items (2 headphones) that are used ONLY to complete mannequins on display in a private collection or museum meet? Both sellers, stunned, referred me to you because, once the packages are delivered, they completely lose track of them! My CLEAR question is: is this "behavior" by the Lichfield Center regular and legal, considering that packages shipped directly by the sellers, without GSP, arrive in 4/5 days and NOBODY holds them without reason, while those via GSP take even... 1 month?
Thanks in advance: Letizia Giorgetti

Mentore2 years agoIf the purchased items are subject to seizure, it is normal for them to be held by personnel similar to our Financial Police.
Just hope you don’t also get reported.
Unfortunately, you will not receive any refund.
Kind regards.

OP2 years agoin Lichfield, under the Global Shipping system etc. !!! As clearly
stated, they were blocked for no reason, because what could
possibly be the reason to block and unlawfully DETAIN 3 radio listening headphones
that are over 80 years old??? I was refunded but the
Seller lost everything! Is all this LEGAL? Why do ALL
the items purchased in the UK, but shipped directly by the Sellers,
therefore not via GSP, arrive in a maximum of 4/5 days and our Customs have NEVER
stopped, blocked or unlawfully detained them??? Letizia

Mentore2 years agoProbably because it is a product that cannot be sold in the UK; in fact, they were blocked and seized by British customs.
As for the refund, I wouldn't know what to tell you; maybe the fact that they hadn't even been sent out led them to assume the seller was at fault.

OP2 years agoThere have been THREE purchases over a little more than a month, from different English sellers who used the Global Shipping Program, which is handled by the Lichfield customs office. GSP, which when it goes "fast" never delivers in less than 20/25 days despite its self-description as... EXPRESS. All the other purchases, always of British WWII military equipment and accessories, were instead shipped by the sellers via English couriers such as Parcelforce, Parcel2go, Evri etc., directly, without using GSP, and were delivered to me in 5...7 days from the day of the winning bid! No comment! My question to eBay, which I asked THREE times and never answered me, is: why are antique items, therefore obsolete and often not working because they are rusty or incomplete, being held up? Why is no explanation provided? Why are they not returned to the seller who paid to ship them, even if with our money? Why are items shipped "directly" NOT "stopped" (and held!) by the English customs through which they MUST necessarily, by law, pass? Evidently the items shipped via GSP pass through Lichfield! And... what "end" do they meet since they are not ABUSIVELY returned? Is this "behavior" by the Lichfield customs legal?
