Purchases from Great Britain, eBay's behavior is unacceptable.
Good morning everyone, I bought an item from Ebay from a professional shop, for an amount of about 500 Euro.
It was a very rare collectible item I had been looking for for 20 years.
For shipping I paid 46 Pounds …Ebay doesn’t tell you how much more you’ll pay in customs…this thing is a real mystery, Ebay is totally absent from this important “slice” of the transaction, once you’ve purchased and the seller has sent you the shipping tracking, for Ebay’s managers their job is done.
But you still haven’t received the item and Ebay absolutely doesn’t tell you where it is when it arrives in Italy.
My package arrived in customs and got stuck for “insufficient documentation”.
The ordeal began…
I can’t say how many times I tried to talk to Ebay and find out where it was being held up.
I sent at least 20 emails to Ebay and customs NOT TO HAVE THE PACKAGE SENT TO ME….BUT TO TELL ME WHERE IT WAS SO I COULD GO PICK IT UP.
Ebay’s behavior is inexplicable, the people responsible deserve a slap, I want to know their first and last names, you can’t just not care 100% about one of your customers, you’re really lousy, just to contact you it takes an hour of searching.
A user must have the possibility to speak with a human being and this thing must be “ACCESSIBLE” in a few minutes…do you get it, world champion scientists?
Nothing, Ebay brushed me off in 4 minutes saying they wouldn’t refund me “because I had the shipping tracking” 😱😱😱, fortunately Ebay took the matter to heart and refunded me.
but I say one thing…rather than looking into it and understanding what happened, they gave me my money back. I have never seen SUCH LAME PEOPLE.

Mentore2 years agoBefore opening conversations with pointless complaints that help no one and are not at all constructive, you need to take an accelerated course to understand how ebay works.
The only ones responsible are the seller and the buyer... so if the documentation was insufficient, you only needed to know how to handle yourself in those cases, and turning to ebay and the forum was the wrong choice.
The seller was the only one who could help you, or you could have waited for customs to ask you for information, since they often contact recipients by phone or registered letters... if, of course, the product could be imported... you were the one who should have known that!
So this complaint and the curses are totally out of place.
Also, I really don’t think Paypal took your case to heart... simply, they are two different things and handle them differently.
Ah, also, ebay gives you the option to correct what you write... within 5 minutes of writing it... evidently you didn’t know that either.
Have a good day.

OP2 years agoFirst: eBay takes a commission on the transaction and has a duty to protect its clients; that’s how it works in Italy in any transaction where there is an intermediary, study the law.
Second: I corrected it immediately but I didn’t have the chance to do it… so don’t talk nonsense… I looked everywhere right away, there was no way to correct it; when you enter eBay’s sections it’s always like this, you waste a lot of time for nothing.
Third: If in eBay’s format there is a “Shipping” section where you have many choices, what you wrote is empty and pointless nonsense, if it’s as you say… it should say “manage the shipping entirely yourself by contacting the customer”.
Fourth: I’m writing it again because I see that either you’re not getting it or you’re acting in bad faith… eBay closed the matter after a few hours “because I had received the tracking,” okay, teacher of nothing?
After a series of unsuccessful challenges, with no possibility of replying “on the matter,” I contacted PayPal, which did everything it could to find out how to solve the issue and had a completely different attitude… it sent numerous emails to customs and also tried to call several times, it gave me 5 addresses “where the package might have been” in Milan, but it was a feat… I would have had to go around a city I don’t know for 2 days and anyway it was not “certain” that it was there, OTHERWISE I WOULD HAVE GONE… do you get it, little teacher?
Study.

Mentore2 years agoIt seems to me that you're simply making up your own completely far-fetched "castle"... mediation, immediately corrected, Shipping format, a series of complaints... what the hell are you writing?
You're telling a load of crap, you want people to believe that Paypal contacted customs on your behalf, knowing full well from the start that no one can go to customs to pick up their own packages, they aren't open to the public!
Come on, come on... keep on believing that pigs fly.
P.S: if you notice on the right side, it says that the message was edited, proof that you wrote nonsense!

OP2 years ago“ correction: fortunately, Paypal has taken the matter to heart.” ( Ebay won't let me correct it but go to fff )

Mentore2 years agoEBay doesn't sell anything, it's just a showcase for many sellers. When you buy something in a non-EU country, you need to know that importation into the EU is then the exclusive responsibility of the buyer. The buyer must know what their import costs will be.
The seller only has to ship the goods by filling out the necessary documentation. If you haven't received the item, you were correctly refunded.

OP2 years agoBut I would have paid…. nobody contacted me despite the numerous emails and messages. Don’t go off topic …

Mentore2 years agoIn fact, you were reimbursed. What’s your issue?

OP2 years agoIt was an object of my father's that I had been looking for for years.
and Ebay has a duty to inform its customers how to resolve the blockage, because it receives a substantial fee in the transaction.
For a private citizen it is practically impossible to contact customs, call them, find out where it is, understand what is missing … it is not possible because they don't answer you and you're in a kind of bureaucratic “limbo” that you can't get out of.
The problem is you, who maybe haven't understood, but that doesn't surprise me in a place like this, populated by numerous indefinable entities.

OP2 years agoEbay didn’t refund me… and then they immediately closed the case with a “non-refundable.” But what the hell did you think I meant, for God’s sake.

Mentore2 years agoIt seems to me I see someone complaining that on the motorway everyone else is driving the wrong way!
I'm not surprised that you have problems with the forum, with ebay, with customs, with the seller…..
If no one understands you, maybe ………..
