Buying an iPhone, asking the community for an opinion
Summary: A participant asked the community for opinions on buying an iPhone, but the discussion does not contain any further details or specific replies.
It happened to me that I bought an iPhone. The auction started at a low amount and reached €1000, and I won it. The item is described as new, never opened. The market value of the item is about €1800.
After winning the auction, the seller sends me a message saying they can't accept payment by credit card as shown on the site because they are changing the payment method to bank account transfer.
From my experience with eBay, when a payment is made in a different way from the one agreed on the site, it is not guaranteed by eBay and therefore in case of non-delivery of the item, for example, there is no coverage and no protection from eBay. In light of this experience and these lessons, what does the forum recommend? I imagine it recommends canceling the purchase to avoid paying and losing the money. Therefore I ask the users what they think, thanks

Mentore1 year agoThere’s nothing to think about... if the seller asks for payments outside the platform, they’re trying to scam you.
Kind regards.
