purchase not received, the seller is not following the delivery instructions
Hello everyone, I bought an item from a Chinese seller and as soon as I made the payment I asked the seller not to send it to my home address but to send it to a pickup point or locker, the seller told me that I should do it myself by changing the details on the courier's website, I already knew that this was not possible and I insisted that he set up a different delivery address, he pretended to take charge of my delivery but did nothing, the courier came while I was away and did not deliver it, nor did he leave any notice of attempted delivery in the mailbox, the Chinese tracking site doesn't give me any information about the Italian courier, I don't have an order number or even the waybill, the customer service of Poste Italiane told me that without the Italian courier's details nothing can be tracked down.
Since I've already had enough of this I'd like a refund for an item I never received, eBay tells me to wait until November 14, which makes no sense, the delivery attempts have already happened and there won't be another delivery, any advice?

OP1 year agoWhat kind of advice is that? I can’t be at home, I can only use fermo point, I have a life, I shouldn’t have to keep track of where the package is at every step, do you know what I care about? Delivering the package shouldn’t be a job. SDA/Poste Italiane customer service told me the sender could have called and given different delivery instructions, like, for example, leaving it available for pickup at the nearest post office. This “community” service also seems fake and biased to me, a total waste of time.

Mentore1 year agoIf you can’t be home to receive it, maybe it’s time to buy from the Chinese shop downstairs and not use online services.
Delivery to your address is your responsibility; the courier isn’t supposed to chase you, you’re supposed to keep up with him... and if you don’t care about that, then you shouldn’t complain about the missed delivery!
All things considered, the Italian post service can tell you whatever it wants, an international shipment has very few delivery options, if not delivery to your home, and knowing that then it would sit in storage because of your absence for at least 10 days, you could have just gone to the post office to pick it up yourself... but evidently you like things served up for you and making a bit of effort is maybe too difficult.
Just imagine if the Chinese seller had called SDA/Poste Italiane to give delivery instructions... that claim is basically a joke, since SDA doesn’t exist in China!
In any other case, this community thing is not a service, but just a simple forum where volunteer users reply, just like you do... if you expect solutions or tailored answers, you’re in the wrong place!
Happy Sunday.

Mentore1 year agoFor this experience, no... but for future ones, keep a constant eye on the package tracking and make sure you're at home... there are no other solutions, because Fermo Points can only be used for domestic shipments; in no case, if customs duties are required, can an FP handle it.
Have a good evening.

Mentore1 year agoOn eBay this is a serious mistake. Not even the seller can change the delivery address after the purchase.
The item could only be shipped to the delivery address that you have registered on your eBay account.
I don't think you'll be able to get a refund; maybe the seller could give you a partial one when and if the package is returned to them.

OP1 year agoWhat a serious mistake, I contacted Poste Italiane customer service and they told me that the sender could have given instructions to leave the package at the nearest post office where I could have gone to pick it up, this is an agreement between two people, we are not machines, as soon as I made the purchase he should have taken into account what I had said because he had received the order from eBay but had not yet shipped, it is a matter of being fair and honest, if I can't receive it at the address you see then you do it differently, the package had not yet left.
If you prefer to be rigid and do whatever you want then you keep the customer unhappy who will never buy from you again and who will leave you negative feedback, in this way who made the serious mistake? who pays for it?

Mentore1 year agoIf the seller wants to have at least some minimal protection from eBay, they must ship exclusively to the address the buyer has registered on their account.
If you had at least read the eBay help page I attached for you, maybe you would have understood.
