Buying refurbished company laptops
Hello, I bought a laptop at auction and the cover images were 3 pictures of nice laptops, two with aluminum casing (including an HP), because they were metallic-colored, and the last one, black, seemed to be plastic (I think it was an Acer). The last photo, the fourth, had the company’s contact details. In the description there were the laptop’s software features, which match the one I received. And in the listing description there was the company description, young and dynamic, local, selling at highly competitive prices...and okay.
So the PC arrives well packaged and I see that it’s an HP with a black plastic casing, and it has a ton of scratches on the outside, top and bottom. Now, I asked the seller, pointing out that these details (that is, the scratches and the PC being different from the 3 models in the photo, because in the photo the HP is metallic and the Acer is the one with the black casing), these details were not present in the listing. He replies that before making bids in the auction, I should have made sure myself which PC it was by asking them in a message. Is that so? Even though the listing didn’t mention “external defects / scratches,” should I have asked them for the info myself by sending them a message?
Thanks

OP1 year agoGot it, let me rephrase the question:
If, in a sales listing in auction format, there were 3 photos of a notebook similar to the item actually sold, and in a fourth photo and in the "description" section there was the company description, without the notebook actually for sale having been photographed directly, and without its defects being mentioned anywhere in the entire sales listing... in this case, let’s say hypothetical, does the buyer who receives the package with a notebook similar to (but not the same as) some of the images in the listing have any rights they can assert? Can they, for example, ask for a full return, sending the product back? Or can they ask for only part of the refund, keeping the product?
That makes the question seem clearer to me, so thanks for the help

Mentore1 year agoYou can try asking for a return because the item does not match the photo in the listing. This option appears among the reasons in the return process.

Then the seller will offer you a possible partial refund that you can accept or not.
