Purchase of counterfeit item - Bulgari ring
Summary: The discussion concerns the purchase of a counterfeit Bulgari ring. kikiza shares their own experience and sika700 seems to be involved in the conversation. There appears to be an interest in resolving the problem regarding the counterfeit item.
Hello everyone.
I took part in an auction to buy a Bulgari ring, sold as original, even with a warranty.
Maybe I was careless in the purchase because, for example, in the photo the warranty is upside down, so you can only see the marks and logos, but not the specific references for the item.
On top of that, looking closely, the seller posted photos of two different sizes, even though he is only selling one.
Unfortunately, that detail escaped me.
Today, then, an ad from another user appeared for me, but with the same photos and the same text.
From there, the conclusion.
I didn't think these rings could be counterfeit; I searched online, and unfortunately they do exist, they are identical, and a trusted jeweler explained to me that they are gold-plated, but underneath they are made of ordinary metal.
Now, the shipment is in progress and I haven't received the item yet. It will arrive next Monday the 08th.
The seller accepts returns.
What can I do,
1) can I refuse to accept it and send it back, disputing the item as not received?
2) do I have to accept it and ask for a return? But then what if he doesn't refund me, claiming maybe the package I sent back is empty?
3) do I have to accept it and dispute the item? But here too, what if then he doesn't refund me, claiming maybe the package I sent back is empty?
4) I have no problem filing a report, finance police or carabinieri makes no difference, but to prove that it is counterfeit I would have to scratch the surface to make the underlying metal appear. Can I do that or do I have to bring it as is for the report?
Thanks for the help.

Mentore1 year agoIf you have tangible proof that the item you will receive is counterfeit, request a return for item not as described and everything will be at the seller's expense.
If it's only your suspicion, you can return it for change of mind at your own expense.
If you refuse the package, you will not have any chance of requesting a refund and do not have the item tampered with; in this case you will lose any guarantee offered by ebay.
Kind regards.

I can also not open the package and send it back exactly as it arrived.
If the seller were to claim that the package is empty, what do I do?
Thanks
