Buying an item from Japan
I bought an item from Japan, cost 154.66 shipping free.
I received customs clearance charges totaling 71.64 euros, of which
Duty 12.58
V.A.T. 45.56
Fees 13.50
Total 71.64

Mentore9 months agoIt all seems a bit too high to me, probably customs adjusted the value of the item:
Duty: 8% a bit high, even without knowing what it is......
VAT: (154.66+12.58)*22/100 = 36.79 (45.56, with the VAT on the duty removed, corresponds to a taxable amount of 194.51)
As for the fees, it depends only on the courier and the value bracket.
