Amplifier sold as perfectly working and tested arrived broken.
I bought an amplifier from Germany for €300 + €44 shipping, sold as tested and fully working. Unfortunately, it shuts off a few seconds after being turned on, which means something is wrong, and it goes into protection like Denons typically do. It wasn't even possible to start the diagnostics or the protection history. Taking a look inside, there are many capacitors with obvious fluid leakage, a disaster. The seller doesn't want to hear any reason and won't even agree to a deal. I asked for a return, but he won't accept it, and eBay will have to decide. What can I do? How can I protect myself? Obviously, is there any other evidence I can provide? I took videos and photos as soon as it arrived...

Mentore3 years agoIf you opened it and there are messages proving it, eBay may consider it tampering, so you’ll probably lose the dispute.
You should have immediately reported the problem by opening a return and absolutely not touched it, then asked eBay to step in... you can still do that now and wait for the outcome:
Ask eBay to step in - buyers | eBay
Kind regards.
