Order cancellation
Hello, good morning. I requested to cancel my order two days ago before it was shipped, but it is still pending acceptance by the seller. I sent messages but they are not replying, the item had already been paid for so the seller also needs to issue a refund. Is it normal for it to take this long?

the cancellation request is only formal, the seller may disregard it, so they can refuse it and ship anyway.
So if you receive the item, you can return it at your own expense only if the seller accepts returns.

OP1 year agoBut what do you mean by "only formal"? I believe a person has the right to cancel orders before they are shipped for any reason; in my case I canceled because of an incorrect delivery address, so the seller definitely can't ship it to an incorrect address and refuse to accept the cancellation. It's the first time I've canceled an order on eBay, so I don't really understand some of the process; I'll contact customer support to ask for a detailed explanation. Thanks for the reply

Mentore1 year agoWhen you use eBay, buying or selling, you accept its rules.
One of these rules states that purchases cannot be cancelled by buyers without the seller’s consent.
You gave the seller the address, registering it as the shipping address on your account. If the seller ships to that address, they have done their duty. If you do not receive your item, you will not even be entitled to a refund.

Mentore1 year agoWhat I mean is that you can only request cancellation... you, on eBay, CANNOT cancel any order!
The seller has the right to accept or reject your request.
If the mistake was yours, you have to take responsibility for it; if the address was wrong, you should have noticed it first, changed it, and then confirmed the purchase.
Now, if the seller ships it and the package is not delivered... precisely... because of the wrong address, you are also in the wrong and you can't even ask for a refund.
Before using a marketplace, you need to read how it works.
