Announcement with violations but item sold, paid for and received with a positive review.
Summary: daniele-1989 and marioelegio discuss a scenario involving a product announcement that allegedly violated guidelines, yet the product was sold, paid for, and received positively, indicating a possible misunderstanding or error in the reporting of the violation.
Hello, I sold a PS4 Controller that was given to me as a gift and was original. The buyer received it and released the payment with a positive review, so there was no problem at all. After a day my listing showed rule violations and payment pending. I would like to understand what happens now: will the payment be released and will I receive the money? Can I keep selling or is it not recommended because they might block the other payments too?
Thanks in advance for the help

Mentore10 months agoThe listing was removed, so there must actually have been some irregularities with the listing (maybe contact info).
If there were no disputes opened by the buyer, I think the payment is on hold for a limited period. See here if the credit date is indicated.

OP10 months agoThanks for the reply, Mario. Do you think the payment will be unlocked and I’ll receive it, or will Ebay keep the payment?

Mentore10 months agoHave you checked whether there’s an unlock date?
Usually for very serious cases, the block is 170 days.

OP10 months agoIn the orders section, at the bottom of the announcement it says pending funds, expected release date 30 Nov. If they aren’t released by 30 Nov, do you think I won’t receive them?
Thanks again for the replies and the help

Mentore10 months agoOnly 2 days left, wait and see.
In general the first blocks are 30 days, only in very serious cases or in cases of repeated violations of eBay regulations do they go up to a maximum of 170 days.
eBay does not have the power to confiscate them, in extreme cases (if there are reports for stolen or fenced goods) it can only hand the case over to the police.
