AS07A41 Samsung cell
Hello, I bought this battery.

The listing and the item do not match.
The cells are not Samsung as shown in the attachment, but SONYCorp.
The seller also insists on saying they are Samsung cells when they are not.
There are no Rohs symbols on the battery and I believe import and sale in Italy without this mark is prohibited.
What is the best thing for me to do? Contact the finance police or is there an agency that can determine whether the product is certified and therefore legal?
The battery voltage is 12V, outside the 10.8-11.1V range.
If these are truly uncertified and dangerous batteries, if they are, how can I be sure?
To attach photos of the battery I have to open a second post, if needed.
Or is it enough to report it to Ebay to find out whether the seller sent me the wrong item?
The seller doesn't even want photos of the battery, says nobody has ever complained and that they are Samsung cells.
In the listing there is actually no Rohs symbol on the battery, it just says it is certified.
On the battery box there is the Rohs logo, but the box is from the importer, while on the battery the manufacturer has put many logos, but TUV, Rohs and other things I believe are mandatory in Italy are missing.

OP3 years agoAt 88%, the battery is still at 11.9V, and it doesn’t have Samsung cells either.
I can’t even figure out whether the CE is correct; on all the other batteries the C looks rounder and the spacing seems different.
Maybe I’m the one who’s wrong.
The second CE is 100% identical to all the CEs I have at home; the first one, the one from the battery in question, seems to have different spacing.

Mentore3 years agoIf you think the item doesn’t match, ask for a return and refund. If ebay accepts your request, the return will be at the seller’s expense.
When a product is not fit for use or is different from the description in the product listings, the consumer can request cancellation of the contract at no cost whatsoever.

OP3 years agoI wanted to understand whether it was worth having the listing removed.
I can take apart the battery for €40, photograph the cells inside, then I need to figure out how to dispose of it if it really doesn't have Rohs certifications.

OP3 years agoI was hoping there was a support section that gathered evidence to see whether the items were or weren’t sellable in Italian territory.
Apparently there isn’t, I’ll talk informally with someone from the Guardia di Finanza.
With the battery in hand and a finance police officer, I should get a clearer idea about these batteries and their safety/legal status.
