Proposal asymmetry
Why is the buyer obliged to comply with a purchase offer while the seller can simply ignore it since it expires after 24 hours? The seller should also respond to the offer actively, either reject it or make a counteroffer.

Mentore1 year agoEven when it’s the seller who makes a direct offer to a buyer, the buyer has a period of time to decide whether to accept it or not.
The person making the offer knows immediately; the person receiving it doesn’t necessarily have to be connected 24/7 and reply on the fly. Keep in mind that eBay has users in different time zones.
