Purchase Insurance
Summary: de_defda_bu6h12 expresses concern about a new addition of purchase insurance to the sale price in listings. Previously, it was included in the cost borne by the seller, while now it seems to be an additional cost. This change could require a manual review of the prices of numerous listings on eBay, a burdensome process for those with many listings. de_defda_bu6h12 asks whether the adjustment to keep the total price unchanged for the buyer can be handled automatically.
I see this month’s new thing about purchase insurance, namely that it gets added to the selling price on listings.
As I understood it before (until yesterday), purchase insurance (under other fees) was paid by the seller until yesterday. Is that right, or is this an extra cost? If that’s the case, it means having to manually change the prices of all listings by subtracting the listed purchase insurance, a huge job for anyone who has hundreds of listings on eBay. Wasn’t it possible for you to do it directly, leaving the total price for the buyer unchanged?
Alright then, I’m doing it manually myself (a slog of several days to update all the listings consistently): just don’t take me at my word and change the prices back for buyers automatically again.. Total chaos..
