Ridiculous to verify age with a credit card
Absurd
to buy a work tool (tree pruning saw), you have to provide credit card details no matter what. What are prepaid cards for if you want to make online purchases? A credit card has an annual fee and then you're exposed to the risk of fraudulent use by unknown hackers.
Age verification should be done by requesting a copy of an ID card or similar document. The responses from the staff assigned to help buyers are absurd.
