Auction online - I'm about to place the bid 20 seconds before it ends but ...
Summary: The initial post by freedomgt concerns trying to make a last-minute bid in an online auction, but provides no further details about the event. The discussion is followed by brief replies from sika700 and marioelegio, both without additional content.
Hello everyone.
How would you explain the situation where a little while ago, at 17:23, I was about to place a bid on a postcard that was ending; up to that moment there had been 0 bids; I wait for the last 20 seconds before clicking the amount of my bid, an amount that is already in the box; only the final "click" is missing; I watch the countdown seconds and I am about to click 15/20 seconds before the end; when suddenly the "item sold" screen appears.
How is an anomaly like this possible; I asked the seller and of course he knows nothing about it; now (maybe because it's Sunday) you can't chat with ebay.
Do you think I can file some kind of appeal with ebay? But will there be proof of my intention to place the bid? I think so because the screen with my bid was already filled in and only the final click was missing.
Thanks if anyone can help me.

Mentore11 months agoThere was probably a certain slowness in the connection that caused a few seconds of delay between the eBay server and your device. You thought you still had a few seconds when in fact the time was up.
