Deep cycle battery
I bought 4 batteries (15kw) at the end of July, spending more than a thousand euros.Connected to the photovoltaic system, they only charge 1kw, after a week of testing I let the seller know that the batteries don't work and he replies that he's on vacation. After another week he writes to me that he will do the replacement; in fact, he disappeared and no longer responds and meanwhile a month goes by. I file a complaint which is decided in the seller's favor because of timing issues. The seller no longer responds, maybe I can't get refunds but can I know why the batteries don't work, so I take one and open it.... it's full of glass (20 kg of glass) supposed capacity 20 ah instead of 300ah and the others will be the same. Any advice on what to do?

Mentore1 year agoThe price was too low.
For 15 KWh of storage, at least 2500 Ah at 12 volts are needed, since the lead-gel battery cannot go below 50% charge.
A 100Ah 12V AGM deep cycle battery costs a little less than 150 euros, so the 15 KWh pack would have cost at least 3750 euros and not 1000.
Even considering the nominal capacity with 100% discharge (absolutely not healthy for the battery), the price would be too low.
In AGM batteries, the presence of glass is necessary (adsorbed glass mat).
Today I think the best solution (in terms of cost per unit of available energy) would be lithium iron phosphate batteries.

Mentore1 year agoRather than a complaint, you can't do much... also because you tampered with the batteries...
Kind regards.
