Hi, I have a question about import fees from America, Japan, etc.
Hi, I should buy a product in this case from America, where eBay tells me that if I want, I can already pay the import taxes directly on the eBay platform. But is this actually true? I won't have any other expenses to pay the courier? Because I read that then maybe there’s the VAT adjustment and all that stuff here — can you confirm?

Mentore10 months agoFor all types of shipments from non-EU countries, up to 150 euros (product+shipping total) the VAT is collected by eBay on the payment module and there shouldn’t be any additional charges. In the event of any further incorrect requests from the courier, just send the receipt to eBay to get a refund of the VAT paid in excess.
Above 150 euros, however, the VAT is collected by the courier together with the duties and their fees. From the UK and USA there are couriers partnered with eBay who calculate and collect these customs charges in advance. But the choice of whether or not to use these couriers (which join the eBay international shipping program) is up to the seller only.
Just as an example, this is a product that will be shipped with eBay's international shipping program ...
So the VAT is shown and then by opening the listing ...
You can see that it is an eBay international shipment and, in addition to the transport cost, the other import fees are indicated (duties and courier fees).
On 250 euros total (product+shipping), they ask for 80 euros between duties, VAT and fees. A little less than 30%, absolutely comparable with other types of shipping. The advantage is knowing it in advance.

OP10 months agoso with all these amounts in the end I wouldn't pay anything anymore because ebay already takes them from me, right?

Mentore10 months agoAlmost right. Actually, the courier takes them.
You pay everything together on the eBay form, but if you then go to your payment method you'll see two payments, one to ebay sarl and the other to the courier.
Anyway, if you have paid everything in advance, then you don't have to pay anything.
