How to tell whether the seller is reliable or not

I'm taking part in an auction but I can't figure out whether the seller is reliable or not; he has 267 comments (some repeated two or three times with the same message) and as a feedback percentage he has 0% positive, negative, and neutral; I know it may seem like a stupid question but can I trust him?

No one will be able to answer you affirmatively... no one has the ability to predict what might happen and no one... only you... know which seller you're interested in...

The fact that their percentage is ZERO means that they haven't sold anything in the last year.

If you’re covered by eBay’s customer guarantee (it depends on the product you bought and not on the seller) and if you pay attention to eBay’s procedures, you can trust it.
