How corrupt eBay support favors other sellers
Hi everyone
First off, I’m a software seller and I thought I knew how the rules worked, namely that you can only sell original physical software with shipping, not digitally.
Well, eBay suspended my account for 10 days because "PERHAPS my listings are counterfeit" even though the feedback is 100%, the product is in physical original form and the account is professional + traceable. Obviously the message is ridiculous, it’s automated, I’m attaching it
What’s even more rotten is this: after looking into it, you can see how, for example, this seller: https://www.ebay.it/usr/officinadelpc
with thousands of items sold, is not checked or suspended by mistake, even though he also has multiple PRIVATE accounts where he sells the same items: https://www.ebay.it/usr/mondo.pc
which you’re not supposed to be able to do. But how is it that some vendors can seemingly do ANYTHING?
I also have other information that confirms this, but I can’t share it on the forum, but I guarantee you there’s something rotten going on.
Now, the people taking down the listings are operators who have no training; since I’m reported by the competition all the time, I end up with my account suspended for no reason. Also, as we know, eBay support is shameful, not to mention having no way to act on the account except through a ticket.
Don’t rely on this platform for your business, you could find your account suspended without explanation and with no chance of appeal. I can assure you that for people like me who use it to make a little extra, it becomes a real problem.
Big compliments to the staff that monitors listings and to eBay, which makes billions but saves money on the former.

in replying to you I also want to point out how the vendor mentioned above does not have a VAT number displayed, with thousands of items sold

Mentore2 years agoI can only fully agree with you, eBay support on these things is absolutely inadequate (not that it does any better with other types of products, where illegal ones are even easier to identify).
Just a suggestion: To be completely in the right and to avoid some unpleasant consequences of these reports, include your VAT number and your contact info on all listings (as the law would require).
