How to get the money back, after a refund, because the item arrived at the recipient.
Good morning,
at the beginning of December, a buyer bought from me a product I had put up for sale. I shipped it immediately, but the Poste Italiane courier told me that it had had problems with various parcels, including mine.
The product had still not been delivered to the recipient by January 3, so I had to issue a refund to the buyer. Of course, all this time I kept, in a very long-winded way, urging Poste Italiane to deliver the item. After issuing the refund to the buyer, I asked Poste for a refund, but yesterday (January 9) the product was delivered to the customer.
How can I get my money back, which I gave as a refund to the customer, even partially?
I thought about relisting it, the customer buys it from me again and then I say that the item has been shipped, entering on Ebay the shipping code I used in December, where it shows that the parcel was delivered. Obviously I lower the product price, since anyway the item arrived late.
In this way I get part of my money back, the customer received the product, late, but at a lower price.
Is this something I can do?
If so, can you advise and help me understand how I can get back at least part of the refund money I gave to the buyer?
Thanks, I hope someone replies to me.

Mentore3 years agoAccording to eBay, the dispute is closed.
Since you have refunded the buyer, the item has returned to your ownership. So you have two options:
If the buyer (having been informed of the above and of the fact that you would be willing to take back the item at your own expense) wants to play smart and keep both the money and the item, you can report them for embezzlement.

OP3 years agoOk.
But, excuse my ignorance, but if I put the item back up for sale and the customer buys it from me again, I don’t reship it to him, since he already has the item, and I upload to eBay the shipping code for the real and only shipment that was made, which shows as delivered, the money comes back to me and then that’s it and the customer has the product. Why can’t that be okay for eBay?
I understand that the dispute is closed, but this seems to me like another way to get the money back, without contacting eBay again.
Right?

Mentore3 years agoI’d say definitely not, simply because you can’t enter a shipment number that’s already been used, also because it would have a date earlier than the sale... so you’d be exposing yourself to another waste of time and money.
Kind regards.

OP3 years agoOk.
So how can I get my money back?
sika700
Mentore3 years agoIt has already been explained to you:
- get your item back by arranging pickup with the buyer's cooperation;
- contact the buyer and agree on another payment.
There are no other ways.
Kind regards.
