How does eBay behave in these cases? posta1
good morning, I’ve run into a small problem and I’m asking for anyone who may have already been through this, how eBay handles these cases.
First of all, I’ve been on eBay for years and have almost never had problems; in this specific case I made a fairly large sale (78 euros) with posta1, and the buyer wrote to me today threatening to report me because the delivery shows as completed but he claims he never received anything. I asked him to wait a few days, because sometimes it happens that items are marked as delivered by the post office but in fact the delivery is made later, but since I’m dealing with someone who only knows how to threaten (in vain, I’d say) and call me a scammer, and I’ve already figured out that even if the envelope arrives he’ll keep insisting on his story to get the money refunded, I wanted to understand, in the event of a dispute, how eBay behaves, because posta1 only provides delivery confirmation and not full tracking, so will it end up refunding the buyer? Or will the delivery code be enough as proof?

Mentore2 years agoEven though I personally believe that delivery confirmation is not valid as tracking and that therefore the seller should be required to refund, ebay has often decided differently, accepting the delivery confirmation as proof.
Don’t take this as an absolute rule, since it will depend a lot on the agent who handles the dispute the buyer will open.

OP2 years agounconsciously yes, because as written I move many shipments over the course of a year, and I've never had any problems, I've even done others for higher amounts without ever having problems, because maybe the shipping costs were too high with registered mail and I never really thought about it, unfortunately I only realized it now that I gave too much trust to human beings

Mentore2 years agoA standard registered letter up to 20 g costs € 7.60. If the buyer doesn't want to spend them, don't you want to spend them yourself to "protect" a sale of € 78.00 or more? Losing them completely is much worse than paying the difference between regular mail and a standard registered letter, and it's also very tempting for the "less than honest".

OP2 years agoas I already wrote, I've always done it in a naive way, to save on shipping for those who buy, but honestly I don't need a dressing-down nor to keep crying over spilled milk, as I already said I'm aware that I was reckless, I can't go back, what I need is to understand how eBay handles these cases
