How are customs duties calculated from America to Italy?
I want to buy a board game from America. It says in the description international shipping, I click Buy It Now on the first click, it says customs duties 0 but both the seller and reading here and there it comes up that I have to pay 20% on the total (item + shipping), does that sound right to you?

Mentore3 years agoI’d calculate at least 30%, keep in mind that VAT alone is 22%.
Customs duties are only paid on amounts over 150 euros, and the percentages depend on the European customs tariff list Taric (very hard to consult, but if you want to try it, it’s online).
In addition to VAT and any duties, you then also have to add the courier’s fees for customs clearance operations (from 5 to 25 euros depending on the value of the item and on the courier handling it in Italy).
