Problematic delivery caused by the ebay-spedizioni and Bartolini platforms
Summary: nicolamos3 describes a problem with a tracked shipment sent via eBay Shipping and the Bartolini carrier not being delivered. The package, held at the branch for a month, was not delivered because of an address error caused by the label system, which added an incorrect suffix to the place name, leading to a delay in communication with the buyer. Despite complaints sent to Packlink and Bartolini, the issue remains unresolved, highlighting potential conflicts between sellers and buyers caused by platform errors.
Good evening, I’m bringing up an old problem of a tracked shipment purchased with Ebay-spedizioni and carried by Bartolini not being delivered. After a month the package is still sitting at the branch because of errors in the recipient’s address, according to the courier. In reality, after about ten days I was able to confirm with the buyer (who replied late) that the address is correct, except that when the label was created the system indicated a different hamlet as the destination municipality’s subdivision (the difference is an extra -ino suffix, so the location went from "pese" to "paesino") but with the same postal code. That was enough to cause the failed delivery. I contacted Ebay support and at first I was told that in the event of an incorrect address all problems were the buyer’s responsibility, but in this case both I and the recipient followed the correct procedures and it’s clear that the responsibility lies with the various platforms that interacted badly. Following these problems, having finally received feedback from the buyer, I took action by sending complaints to both packlink and Bartolini, but even after 18 days of back and forth the matter still hasn’t been resolved. I’m posting this, and I apologize for the length, to inform the community about a type of problem that could lead to buyer-seller conflicts even when each party has done their part.
