PICKUP POINT DELIVERY
Good morning, lately I’ve been noticing an issue. After purchasing, I choose the Pickup Point and select it. The seller enters the tracking number and I follow the shipment. At the time of delivery, the driver calls me and tells me that THEY (e.g. TNT) are not responsible for delivering to the Fermo Point. According to the driver, he wanted to contact me, but he could also have not done so; the driver would have entered INCOMPLETE DATA and the package would have been sent back.
- Is it possible that the driver completely got the wrong end of the stick and in any case was supposed to leave the package at the indicated Fermo Point?
- Is it possible that the seller did not use eBay’s shipping procedure, choosing their own carrier outside the eBay platform, simply by copy-pasting the recipient’s details?

OP2 years agoOk I read point 3 paragraph b. "it is up to the eBay seller to have the Parcel delivered, through the Couriers normally used by them, to the Fermopoint chosen by the Principal;"
So I don't understand the behavior of the Pickup Point.

Mentore2 years agoI think you still haven't got the point: it's not a problem with the Fermo Point but with the courier!
The courier didn't even go to the Fermo Point!

Help shipping order
If the buyer was able to tick the delivery option to a pickup point, it is only because you gave this possibility in your listing. So now you have to ship to that address with that pickup code (ecp). If it is a BRT fermopoint, posta1 is fine too; if it is a Poste point, you should use poste delivery standard.

"If in the address after the eCP code you find the abbreviation FP, that is FermoPoint, they are all BRT points... so you can ship however you prefer, even with Posta 1.

I think the courier either didn’t want to or didn’t have time to deliver the package, since a Fermo Point is just an ordinary shop... some newsstands, some bars or stationery shops...
Also, sellers have no obligation to use eBay’s shipping service; everyone is free to ship independently.
So, I deduce that this is a TNT service issue, not anything else... I also use TNT for shipments to Fermo Point and customers have never complained about similar issues.

OP2 years agoThe driver contacted me; he could have not done it, and the package would have gone back and the problem would have been mine and the seller's.
I believe the seller has very specific conditions to follow; otherwise, you end up seeing the package come back and you're forced to issue a refund, which benefits no one.
If at the pickup point they don't load the package into the platform, they won't take the package.
So if a professional or private seller knows they have to ship to a pickup point, check with Ebay to see how it actually works.
Otherwise, as a customer I have to say that Amazon, with its lockers, works better.

Mentore2 years agoI'm telling you this as a seller... so if you want to believe it, fine; otherwise I don't know what else to tell you... if the seller sees the eCP code followed by the FP abbreviation, it means a FermoPoint, so as such, it refers to newsstands, bars, stationery shops, or other stores.
So, the seller can ship however they see fit and also with TNT, which, if you read carefully, I already said I use too and I have shipped to a FermoPoint several times and have never received any complaints.
I repeat, it's simply a TNT service failure; the courier simply called you because he didn't feel like delivering... there are no other explanations.
