Advice on eyeglass frames - which ones to choose
Good evening everyone, in a little while I’ll have to change my prescription glasses. The average price for a frame is around €80, if you don’t choose famous brands.
Here’s the doubt. A former colleague of mine, who worked in a large Italian company in Veneto, was hired by several high-fashion brands (Gucci...) to make sunglasses. He told me that the production cost for a finished pair of glasses is around €7-10.
So my question is this: what is the real value of frames (including branded ones) that I could buy from an optician?
I was therefore thinking of looking for some frames, made of more durable materials like titanium, which, if unbranded, could be purchased at a reasonable price. In short, paying for the quality of the frame and not for the prestige of the name.
Do you have any experience with this? Do you know any reliable sellers that deal in titanium frames?
