Hi, a few months ago I sold an item to a customer.After receiving it, the customer wrote to me saying that the item received was not suitable for his car (it was an air conditioning compressor paid for at €117 including shipping costs). He asked to be able to return it, and I replied no because by then the item had been received and fully matched the listing.After a few weeks I see a dispute opened where the buyer claims to have received a product different from the listing and, THROUGH HIS CREDIT INSTITUTION, he opens a claim against me.I reply to the claim explaining the situation with screenshots of the conversations I had with the user and showing that the product shipped matches 100% what was described in the listing.Another month passes and yesterday I get the notification that the credit institution (PayPal, external to eBay) has upheld the user's request.So the funds held by eBay for this purchase were returned to the buyer.I then write to the buyer to ask for info regarding the return of the product, but no response.So now I find myself without the item, because it is in the buyer's possession, and without the money because it has been refunded to the buyer.I call EBAY support and they tell me I have to speak with PAY PAL because the dispute started there.I contact PAY PAL and they tell me I have to speak with EBAY because, on my side, the transaction did not happen in Pay Pal and they can't do anything.I CALL EBAY AGAIN and they tell me to contact the user for the return of the item.THE USER doesn't reply to me.So what am I supposed to do? suck it up and lose both the money and the sold item, or can I somehow take action against the user?The only advice EBAY has given me so far is to GO TO THE POLICE and file a report.Has anything like this ever happened to you? And do you by any chance know how to handle it?What makes me angry is that the decision was made by the user's credit institution and the communication was never reviewed by EBAY, which has the exact history of what happened.As a private seller I feel completely scammed.Thanks for listening
