Controversy opened and closed while I was away
If I reported my absence from ebay in the time and in the ways you ask, for what reason was I the subject of a dispute opened and closed while I was away ??
"Unfortunately, you did not provide the shipping code in time to win the dispute"
Can you explain how I could have done that if during that period I was absent and unable to access the internet?
Yet I had indicated my absence from September 19 to October 1 and that appeared on my home page !
What is the point of reporting your own absence if disputes are opened and closed in favor of the buyer while you are away and therefore not only unable to defend yourself, but without even knowing that a dispute has been opened??

So try to think in what place I was, ‘unlikely’...?
Absence is not always vacation, remember that
Anyway, the fact remains that since I wasn’t there I couldn’t even know about the dispute, and what I’m being criticized for is the manner in which I had to reply. What is a seller supposed to do when they can’t be present, other than report it? Should they perhaps close the account
If there’s another way, tell me, maybe it could happen to you too, who knows...

Mentore2 years agoLet's say that... if your absence was scheduled from September 19 and the dispute was opened on the 20th, the lack of the shipment number happened before your absence... so most likely you didn't update your order correctly.
Kind regards.

Mentore2 years agoThe absence notice is only there as a heads-up to potential buyers and to extend possible shipments until you return.
The absence notice has no effect on the timing of the procedures. By the rules, you have 3 business days available before the buyer asks for eBay’s intervention.
Today, with apps, it’s very unlikely that someone would be unable to access the internet.
